September 18, 201312 yr I'm trying to get my Saitek throttle to reverse successfully. It work on the PMDG 747 and 737 but when landing on the 777 I have to pull the throttle back and forth a few times to get the reverse to engage. I have it set in the PMDG options as IN HOLD ONLY and have AT on when landing. My understanding is that AT should disengage on touchdown? I have the reverse mapped in FSX, no anything else.
September 18, 201312 yr I have Saitek throttles as well but find no issues. I programmed the reverse part of the throttle as the F2 key by the Saitek software and kept FS default on reverse key bindings. Also it takes a little while for the rev. announcement on the engine display. Best regards, Stefan van Hierden
September 18, 201312 yr Author I think i may have found the issue. On a manual landing AT stays on if Im correct?
September 18, 201312 yr I think i may have found the issue. On a manual landing AT stays on if Im correct? Correct but that doesn't give me any problems. Where is your throttle position on landing? I have mine set at the 0 point on approach until I select reverse. Best regards, Stefan van Hierden
September 18, 201312 yr When I autoland, pressing F1/F2 lowers my engines as required, but when I cease doing this the engines immediately spool up again whilst on the runway. I now realise that this is because the throttles in the 777 are still set at their approach setting and unaffected by pressing the F1/2 keys. How do I handle the synchronisation of my Saitek throttles with those of the 3D cockpit? I have FSUIPC installed. If I understand you correctly then bring your throttles back to idle at the same time as your engines drop to idle on the start of the decent. I believe they are spooling back up because as the A/T deactivates they may be being sensed as full at that point. 5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2
September 19, 201312 yr Here's how to set your Saitek Throttles and Reverse Thrust up. The reverse thrust will work even if the N1 is not at idle. The throttles are set through FSUIPC in the following manner: 1 Load Aircraft to be configured 2 Open FSUIPC 3 Select Axis Assignment 4 Select Type of Action Required Send Direct to FSUIPC Calibration 5 Cycle Levers through idle to full throttle - should get the following numbers: -16384, idle to 16383 (approx), full throttle 6 Select action from drop down menu - # 1 Throttle or #2 Throttle Go to Joystick Calibration Joystick Calibration 1 Cycle each throttle lever through range. DO NOT CLICK ON SET OR CALIBRATE JOYSTICK FURTHER. 2 Check ExcludeTHROTTLEn_SET (lower right corner) 3 Click on OK. That's the throttles set, now for the reverse thrust which is controlled by a switch on the Saitek TQ by pulling the levers through idle detent, activating a switch/button. 1 Go to Buttons and Switches 2 Check Profile Specific and Select for FS control 3 Push throttle lever down past detent 4 Select Throttle Decr from right side menu 5 Parameter = 0 6 Check Control to repeat while held 7 Select Throttle 1 Cut (or 2) under Control sent when button released. Delete all Throttle or Throttle Decr assignments for Saitek Yoke and Throttle in FSX That's all there is to it. throttles and reversers set for the T7 or NGX depending on which aircraft you have open. September 19, 201312 yr Author Thanks for the detailed tutorial but i dont use FSUIPC. The standard FSX config work fine for the 747 and 737.
September 19, 201312 yr Rob, Many thanks for your clear instructions. Seems to be working at the gate. Now I shall test it on a flight.
