Setting up the right view from Cpt. seat

Featured Replies

This is a question for PMDG Team: on page 124 of the Introduction Manual for the newly released T7 there is a great picture that gives some good reference points to properly set up the right Point of view from Captain seat. Would it be possible to have something similar for the NGX ? I don't think I have seen anything like this on the NGX manuals unless I am missing something....

Thanks

However, I've found that the recommended 60% zoom for me produced different output. On my screen I get the similar view with 40% zoom.

Do you have wideviewaspect=true in your fsx.cfg?  If not, that's probably why.

To be quite honest, I don't know. I may or may not. The views I get, I'm fine with, but I'll check later today. It may improve the overall experience :-)

Regarding setting up your position, the information is also in the FCTM (although it is written for real aircraft, not the sim.

I use .60 zoom for all VC views. As for the captain's view, I set the "camera" in the middle of the headrest where you would imagine the pilot's head being located. Make sure you don't go into the headrest as I have read this can cause a hit on performance for some reason. Make sure the yoke is centered in the view and then you're ready to fly.

might cost some performance - the worse problem is that clickspots and buttons and switches cease to function.

Holy mother of all holy what a change!
