DX10 and London X

Featured Replies

I'm currently evaluating the DX10 Fixer, and have a problem that I haven't seen reported in any of the other posts yet.

Using DX10 mode, the base of the Millenium Dome and every single tree in Horizon VFR London X scenery are flashing like Christmas Trees.  I am including a screenshot, but of course you can't see the twinkling in a still picture.

This doesn't happen in DX9, so I'm wondering if there is a cure?

Dave.

I will check that out, Dave. I do know that the trees in London were flashing badly when I tested DX10 Preview mode some time ago, but that was before many of the fixes included in Steve's utility had been implemented.

I have just checked, and I can confirm that I am seeing exactly the same problem with the trees and lower part of the Millenium Dome in VFR London X. Earth Simulations Treescapes trees (and other trees in various scenery packages, including ORBx) appear to be fine.

Does it flash in the same way if

1)  DX10SceneryFixer is uninstalled  (so native DX10)

2)  DX10SceneryFXier is installed but Effects are disabled?

Indeed are we talking about trees flashing in the sense of appearing an disappearing or are we talking about poor AA?

They aren't flashing on and off, Steve. It's actually more like a very bad case of "shimmering". These trees must be different to the rest, because the others (Earth Simulations Treescapes, ORBx, UK2000 etc) are all working fine. The lower section of the Dome looks like some kind of strobing effect.

The VFR London X trees exhibited the same problem in DX10 Preview mode before DX10 Fixer (or any of your improvements) were released.

For the record, I am running FSX with AA set to 8xCS in DX10 Fixer, and 4xSGSS and 16x AF in Nvidia Inspector.

Just curious, Dave - would you look in your FSX root folder, for a file named bkg.bmp.  When you find it, would you dble-clik on it and tell me what colour it is, please..  thanks..

Steve,

Do you know if there is any possibility of a fix for this problem? In addition, my AI planes are currently missing strobe and navigation lights. Can I do anything to correct this?

Paul,

Dave.

The original one is, I think, the FSX background 'bluish' one, is it not Paul ?

I can't even tell what colour it is. Grey? Very dull brown? It's difficult to determine. Is there an option that states what colour it is?

This topic seems to have been forgotten about, but is not yet resolved.

Perhaps an Admin could move it to the new forum for DX10 Fixer, please?

Dave.
