Hi,

I am experiencing on a random basis the same subject issue of this thread: during a turn, although there is a bank angle the aircraft doesn't turn, i.e. the heading remains unchanged, then all of a sudden it starts moving to the new heading but rather than in a smooth way she turns via a series of jerky steps. It is not a problem of FPS drop, as the FPS remain stable during the turn. It happens absolutely randomly and not on every flight, and I don't have any clue on what can trigger it. It happens both in manual flight as well as in autoflight.
This issue started to occur after I installed ASN SP3, so I thought it could be related to this and I have posted the same question on HiFi forums but reading this thread I understand other people had the same issue long before ASN SP3 was released.
I see the last post on this subject is dated January 2015, so I'd like to know if a root cause has been found in the meantime.
Thanks

Regards

Are you by any chance banking more than 35 degrees bank?

That is Overbank protection kicking in, foghting you :-)

Klick on the AP disengage BAR on the MCP panel to turn envelope protection off, then you can go crazy.

Or just bank max 30 degrees like in real life.

Really? This doesn't seem realistic and doesn't match what is in the real life 777 or at least when I watched PilotEye's Seattle 777F video they show them testing the 777 bank angle protection in a sim and it never jerky around like this:

Is this a known idiosyncrasy in the FSX,PMDG platform or is it just me? Anyone else notice that when banking past when the protection kicks in that the PMDG777 will act really weirdly?
