Was the next Flight Level already dialed into the autopilot altitude window?

Please include the CVR log.

 

As far as I recall, yes the FO set the next level but wouldn't set the V/S.

My mistake.  That's not the CVR log. :blink:

 

The real CVR log will be re-implemented in the next update.

 

 

As for the V/S:  Are you positive the correct speech phrase was used as per the manual?

 

Also note, the Airbus VS selector is a bit complex.  You still need to meet the conditions to be able to manually select a VS.  Try manually if you can't set it via voice to ensure you're meeting the conditions.

Hi Bryan, when the FO ignored me I intervened and was able to set it manually. However, I'm prepared to accept that at the moment I gave the command I may not have had the conditions absolutely correct. This is what I meant about the Airbus seeming to be more complex to fly.

 

I'll spend some time getting more familiar with the Airbus and if it happens again I'll let you know.
