October 10, 201312 yr Author Hello I just reinstalled the updated version of the twin otter extended and when I go into the linda joystick settings ,only the Saitek throttle is usable even thought the other devices that I programed are present in linda. when I flip a switch on one of the other devices,I see a quick flash of that device and its settings and then right back to the Saitek throttle. I don't even want to use linda for the throttle. thx lee
October 11, 201312 yr Hello, if it flips back to the Saitek Throttle then make sure, this throttle does not send a signal! Saitek Throttles have a button if the levers are down as example. And could be also an issue with that throttle that it sends error signals. You could also prove that in the windows joystick manager if your throttle is sending signals. October 11, 201312 yr The button that is activated at the bottom of the levers action on Saitek Quads is not actually a real button inside the hardware, it is a virtual button in the firmware that is activated when the throttle handle gets below a certain value in its range, this range is not visible to Windows either. If the potentiometer for that throttle lever is getting old or dirty due to extended use then the signal from it starts to become erratic and noisy, so it appears to jump around even though the lever itself is not moving. This jittery motion can take the stick out of this virtual button range in firmware and this makes it look like the switch is been turned on and off. And this ultimately is why LINDA switches to this button all the time because it thinks you are pressing the button. There are tutorials on Youtube that show you how to take the throttle apart and clean the potentiometer with Contact Cleaner, I did this a couple of months ago and my two quads are now working as good as new again. Cheers, Andy.
October 13, 201312 yr Author Just installed new throttle quad. You were right. The old one was used for about 2 1/2 years. Also I did uncheck the enable box for the mcp but still get the error message in the linda log saying that she cant detect mcp and csantfind file. So everytime I assign a fxn , I have to end flight and load it again. Its not the worse thing but I woukd like to know how to fix this. Thx Lee
