Hi all,the pricing upset me (as European as well) and will most likely prevent my purchasing of the aircraft. Yes, the dollar

Thanks for the explaination Rob. I just wondered and being in the lumber business here in the states I surely realize where the Euro is and has been vs. the US dollar. Pathetic really! (Thanks in a sense to our HUGE NATIONAL DEFICIT in the USA, and again THANKS TO A PRESIDENT I DID NOT VOTE FOR :)Anyhow- you all do GREAT work at Realair and I would not suggest ANYONE passes this airplane up if you're into this type of flying! P.S. Why don't you guys build a 777 or the like? WOW!

Hi Eric,Our costs are in English pounds. We're not actually denying European users anything. The price of our aircraft two years ago was 25 EUROS, when the dollar and Euro were roughly in parity. The cost of a hugely more sophisticated aircraft two years later is......25 Euros, despite European inflation of approximately 5-6% over that time. So in real terms our price has DROPPED in Euros for an aircraft that is technologically more advanced.Eric, you constantly give us a hard time. I don't know why and I'm unaware of what we've done to upset you. I think the Spit is very good value for the enormous amount of toil that went into it. You won't know that because you have decided, unseen, that it is not for you.Fair enough. You are entitled to your opinion.Kind Regards,Rob Young

$40 CDN ain't too rich for me. I plan to buy myself one pronto... :)

Looks great, RealAir Team! But around $35-$40?? OUCH.This sucks, I really wanted this add-on but that price puts it out of reach for me. Oh, well. :(

I do sympathise about what appears to be a higher price than people have come to expect for similar software, but please believe me folks, our EURO price IS the same as 2 years ago for a more advanced aircraft with more authors involved and more research, costs and other expenses. We hate the VAT on Euro online purchases as much as anyone else, and in fact we don't have any power to recoup this either because it is by law deducted not by us but our e-commerce agent.I can only re-state that, without the VAT, our price for the Spit is in real terms LESS than our Marchetti was two years ago. The dollar price is actually about $34, and that is because the dollar is sliding towards an abyss, and that's not our fault! KInd Regards,Rob Young www.realairsimulations.com

Understood, Robert.I think it is just the initial shock. One minute something is $20-$25 then all of a sudden stuff starts selling for closer to $35.If places like PMDG start to follow the same idea I wonder how much their add-ons will cost. :-eek Not your business's fault. If you aren't making money, what's the point of being in business?:)

I think it's worth pointing out to all the people who're complaining about how expensive the Spit is in $ dollars (did I vote for GWB, or did you guys? :-) ) that you don't only get the Spit in more than one version, but also a superb scenery, with AI spitfires too! A scenery like that can easily cost

"I have the feeling that some of you guys are just starting to realise that , yes, there IS a world outside of the good old US of A, and that's not a bad thing"Well put!Kind Regards,Rob

I went ahead and bought the Spit. and she is great!!VERY VERY nice!Only 1 tiny issue...My canopy doesn't close all the way. There is a gap all the way around after it is closed (where the rear canopy meets the windshield). Any chance of a fix?Thx for the Spit. guys, she sure is a beauty!!

RobI understand there is only one cockpit view, does the cockpit behave like the VC cockpits in others, I use the trackIR to look around in any VC cockpit, will it work in the same way.Anthonyhttp://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-customer.jpg

I have been speechless for a while before after installing and initial check out of a new FS aircraft model on the block, payware and freeware alike as well as in a positive or negative sense but after installing RealAir's Spitfire this afternoon i haven't said a word since.. atleast i don't think so. The only thing wrong with this package is that, being a dedicated FS aircraft designer myself, it makes me feel totally inadequate. *:-* If by any chance you've been looking for a cure for your 'VC phobia' this is deffinately it. It does not only make you smell like you're sitting in a real Spit office, the gauge update is as good, if not better, then any simple 2D panel. Hark!! Think i just heard something mumbling " justice has been done ".. was it me ? Maybe i got my speech back, good ! Now i got to find myself something to eat and drink, feed the cats and fish, walk the dog and turn up the heat, i believe it's getting freezing cold in here but maybe i'm wrong. Can't think straight. Someone turn the lights on please !! Bob eh.... Jan :-eek :+

Hi Shane,Glad you took the plunge, and I think you'll concede now it was worth it! We'll have a look at the very minor thing you observed but I hadn't noticed this. Of course most pilots will be looking where they are going! Thanks for your comments.Kind Regards,Rob Young www.realairsimulations.com

Hi Anthony,The VC cockpit functions exactly like any other, except that the gauges are both clear and totally smooth. Anything you can do in any other VC you can do in this one.Kind Regards,Rob Youngwww.realairsimulations.com
