EDDF ILS....Not showing DME info on PFD

Featured Replies

Greetings all,

I was flying into EDDF/Frankfurt, after having installed the latest update from Aerosoft (Mega Airport X, with the newest runway). I selected the 25L approach in the FMC. The ILS info appeared on the PFD (showing "I-FSW/248, and the ILS indication below that. However, the numbers after DME were just dashes ("DME ---). The FMC NAVRAD page also showed the correct info (ILS 111.15/248 A). When I pressed the LOC button, it lit up green, along with the LOC indication in green on the PFD. I then pressed the APP button, which also turned green, however the G/S indication on the PFD remained white. I closed FSX, and ran the "Make Runways" utility. Re-started FSX, but the same thing happened.

Any ideas?

Many thanks.

The Make Runways tool is for FS2Crew's RAAS, not the 777.

As for the DME, the ILS must have a co-located DME in order to broadcast that information.  Many installations have them now, but some do not.  Are you sure the Aerosoft version includes this?

Ahhh.....I didn't know that about the MakeRunways app.

I just re-tried the approach. Everything worked fine (I think I was too high to capture the g/s the last time). The g/s indicator changed from white to green, and I got the Autoland 3 prompt. The DME still didn't work, however. I have no idea if Aerosoft has included it (I would assume not). Perhaps others can chime in.

ILS 25L at EDDF (IFSW, 111.5) is supposed to have a DME signal. Submit a report to Aerosoft.

Just edit the AFCAD - select ILS 25L Properties and put a check in the <Has DME> box and save the edit.

Thanks.....I just downloaded the ADE program, although I'm not sure if I want to start messing with it (and changing an airport) just before a major event. I foresee a calamity upon landing!
