Multimonitor support (180 FOV)

Featured Replies

Doesn't quite look even 130 degrees to me. Perhaps when zoomed out you can have a greater FOV?

Correct. The views I posted were at zoom 1.0 to make it easier to compare the views. I normally use a zoom of 0.89 but this makes the picture look more zoomed out than it is when your actually sitting in front of the monitors.

Hi,

I'm using P3D 1.4 with a triple monitor setup 5760x1200x32 and have close to 180 degree view. Not sure about omnimap / easyblend, unless there are automatic. If they are not automatic, then I'm not using them and I'm happy with the results.

How did you get that resolution? I have a GF 770,and when I try to create a custom resolution,it tells me not supported.

Hi,

Each monitor is set at 1920x1200x32 (via surround it's 5760x1200x32), do your monitors support a resolution of 1920x1200?.

Well, two things I see. 1. Your monitors support a resolution of 1920x1080 (via surround it's 5760x1080x32) and 2. I see your using THTD. The resolution of 5040x1050x32 your getting is more than likely a limitation of THTD itself.

======================

Additional Info on the THTD

======================

Maximum DVI Resolution 1 5760x1080 (3x 1920x1080) 2
3840x1200 (2x 1920x1200)

1Maximum resolution is system dependent.

2 This mode runs at 50Hz which may be incompatible with some displays. Verify with your display vendor for compatibility.

This is why your getting the following

5040 x 1050 (3 x 1680 x 1050) 2, 3 57Hz 4

2 Resolution not supported with VGA displays.
3 Mode not available under any Mac OS X operating system.
4 These widescreen modes are only available when TripleHead2Go Digital Edition is connected to the system's dual-link DVI output, and are not available under any Mac OS X operating system.

I have also same setup with Mike. No problem whatsoever.

Apparently Prepar3d can support vertical and horizontal FOV up to 179 by editing a simple config file:

http://www.prepar3d.com/sdk/Core%20Utilities%20Kit/Camera%20Configuration/Camera%20Configuration.htm#MBCameras

This applies only to observer-based cameras from what I can see.

I assume this would exclude VC cameras plus any cameras moving with the aircraft.

here is a video of 210 degree shot by wide angle camera. I'm using a 1.0 zoom (5760X1080 projectors) and it looks correct to me, only problem is that the ground textures in some areas are not loaded (blurry) becuase of the 1.0 zoom.

Amazing perspective! How many projectors and which one are you using? Wideview or stretched view using the new features in prepar3d?
