October 13, 201312 yr Anyone know how to stop the FSX.cfg file resetting every time I start FSX. Many Thanks
October 13, 201312 yr Hi Matt, I think, with respect you may be mistaken. Are you sure you're not just seeing two elements of your cfg which have changed? As far as I know, the only two values which revert back to default are the Texture_max_load=1024 and the LOD_radius=4.5. Although I'm happy to be corrected  HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776

October 13, 201312 yr In that case I'm flummoxed. That's the first time I've heard of that. It doesn't make sense... October 13, 201312 yr Author In that case I'm flummoxed. That's the first time I've heard of that... Maybe you're right. I've noticed there for some strange reason is a FSX.cfg.txt (notepad) and a white FSX.cfg, how come there are two, I was editing the FSX.cfg.txt and it was reverting to the original. Tried the other one (opening in notepad) and it worked.
October 13, 201312 yr Aaaah, OK, sure, the cfg file is exactly that, a cfg file, the other is a text document. So as you have discovered, it's not the text file you tweak... October 13, 201312 yr I've noticed there for some strange reason is a FSX.cfg.txt (notepad) and a white FSX.cfg, how come there are two, FSX.cfg.txt is created when the sim crashes. It is there in case you decide to share the info about the crash with Microsoft. Don't bother as there is nobody there to see it. FSX.cfg.txt can safely be deleted, FSX does not use it and, as you have seen, neither should you. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
October 13, 201312 yr Whenever FSX crashes, it creates a fsx.txt file. Just delete it Edit: Posted the same time as Joe System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A, Intel i9-14900KF, Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL.
