  1. Thanks for the reply. Which product do you have, the bundle or the one of the two separate packages?
  2. Thanks for the apology.
  3. I'm glad we now agree.
  4. If you go on the P3D website, what I said has come directly from their webpage on licensing, not from me...
  5. You can't use it for entertainment, but you can use it for simulation and learning. Lockheed don't want P3D to become a commercial computer game like FSX. There's nothing else to it, it's not rocket science.
  6. Frooglesim has done a really good video on licensing if you haven't read the P3D website.
  7. The P3D website is quite clear on licenses. You can only purchase the academic license if you are an undergraduate student, a K-12 student or are involved in any K-12 after school programs, otherwise you have to purchase either the Professional License or the Professional Plus License.
  8. Thanks for the information. I heard something like the fuel loader and configuration don't work properly and there are some issues with the right FMC. Is that all now fixed?
  9. I really want to get the Aerosoft Airbus, but I have heard a lot of people have had issues with it in FSX Steam. Has anyone had any experiences with it in FSX Steam or know when a Steam version will be out?
  10. Thank you guys for the information, really useful. Thanks Skelsey for the detailed explanation, I found it very informative
  11. Thanks Jim and thank you Chris, that's really useful. I will mainly use the PMDG 777. I will take a look at the video, do a bit of YouTube searching and PFPX doing most of the work makes it much easier (which I didn't realise).
  12. Please could somebody link me to a tutorial on how to properly fly from Europe to the US and vice versa on FSX? I'm not really familiar with this and I'm aware these routes work differently to European ones.
  13. Can I ask someone with EFB, being an in-game application, does it alter FPS much?
  14. Does EFB offer any other facilities or is it just charts like Navigraph? I don't know because I haven't used either.
  15. Thank you, they are the perfect length!
  16. This is just my personal opinion, but for me FSX Steam Edition has been heaven in comparison to the boxed version. I am willing to sacrifice some add-on compatibility just to have a stable platform. I used to get a lot of crashes and various things not working with the boxed edition. I have had the Steam version for about a month and used it quite a bit, so far I've had not a single crash or problem. However, when I get my new PC, I will be moving to Prepar3D, but I would highly recommend the version available on Steam.
  17. You can download charts in the Navigraph charts interface, so I'm assuming you can view them offline, but don't hold me to that.
  18. It is also cheaper if you buy both as a package. They do FMS Data + Charts bundle together.
  19. I had a look, but they either seem incredibly long winded or extremely short haha. I was thinking of something along the lines of Carsten Rau, but he doesn't do a 777 checklist.
  20. Thanks for the information guys, really useful. I had a look on their website and they do an all inclusive yearly fee now for unlimited chart access so there is no need to purchase each individual chart. I also believe you get to keep the charts you download even after your subscription has finished. I don't know why, but the look of EFB puts me off a little when trying to fly professionally. I just get the feeling Navigraph has a more realistic feel to it, but I guess it's just personal preference.
  21. Does anyone know any good checklists for particularly the PMDG 777, but also the 737?
  22. I'm not sure whether to get a Navigraph charts subscription, does anyone know if it's any good or if there are better programs? I've heard Navigraph is the most updated.
  23. I am currently looking at getting a high end system, however for the moment I am stuck with a HP Laptop, but FSX seems to run okay providing I don't have too many third party programs running. I have REX Essential Plus OverDrive and wondered what the FPS impact is likely to be, say with the PMDG 777 and no third party scenery?
  24. You missed out! You should come it's quite a nice place and we even have a house that we own next door, we rent it out to holiday makers, but it's usually empty during the winter. Yeah I think I will have to do it that way to be honest and just hope it doesn't get damaged. The parcel companies for some reason don't seem to want to ensure PC monitors though.
  25. Yeah it's nice, the bills are nicer because they don't really exist haha! Thanks for that and for the offer, the overclocking worries me. I am half tempted to have Overclockers deliver to my UK address and then have someone send it to me with UPS + insurance.
