October 14, 201312 yr I realize this is related to the voice recognition engine in windows and not FS2Crew, but has anyone a tip how to make FS2Crew realize I say "on" and not "armed"?! I've run through the software to train the computer to understand my voice better a few times but to no avail. I try and say "on" in a myriad of ways - slow, fast, low voice, high pitched etc. Just in 1 out of perhaps 15 attempts I succeed. On the other hand, if I sigh, draw air or exhail or yawn - it recognizes it as "on". argh.... I know I can say "check" instead but it's not the way I want to do it. "On" is the only word I have difficulties with. I have the same problem whether I use my Logitech USB Headset or my Dave Clark Headset which has a very sensitive mic. /Krister Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------

December 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Please run the voice training again, maybe consider a better mic, and see this thread for info on training specific words: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/372413-the-new-way-to-train-the-speech-recognizer-for-specific-words-like-auto/ B. December 5, 201312 yr Tried different mics; voice training too, used speacific words training. No result. Earlier everything was in order. /David Sporykhin
December 5, 201312 yr I don't have this problem with FS2Crew, but MCE was so frustrating I had to uninstall it. The only problem I have is leaving a US airfield and telling the ground crew that "We are ready for pushback and engine start". Europe/Africa is no problem, but in the US it doesn't work. I guess my Ohio accent is too heavy... I have to say it very slowly for US ground crew to understand.
December 5, 201312 yr Author I forgot to reply but what Bryan suggested in his answer to me fixed it for me. I have zero problem with the word "on" now. Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
December 6, 201312 yr Commercial Member Europe/Africa is no problem, but in the US it doesn't work. It should work. Make sure you have all updates installed and everything else is in order. Fixed after a little tech desicion. Thx all. For the benefit of others, what exactly did you do? B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord

Hi, Bryan - Yep, all up to date, had this problem since I bought FS2Crew. If I speak American English at EGLL for example, it works fine. I need to repeat myself about 10 times before pushing back in the US - any airport.

You must be doing something else differently because the speech recognition system has no connection to the aircraft's physical location in FSX. Check the Green Bar to ensure the speech recognition system is hearing you correctly. Best, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
