November 16, 201411 yr PFPX is a good flight planner that will export routes to the NGX. It comes with around 8000 canned routes, will automatically build a route, you can build your own, or copy/paste a route from Flightaware. PFPX will calculate the fuel required including the reserve based upon whatever fuel policy you use, the forecasted wind aloft by waypoint and altitude that you fly at including step climbs if so desired. It can also be used for ETOPS planning. It also furnishes a lot of useful information such as TOW, MTOW, ramp weight, landing weight, etc. It is a very useful tool. Michael Cubine

November 19, 201411 yr Thanks gang for all replies! I'm very anxious to get my new rig and get started with the PMDG 737! Its really not that big of a deal for me to insert flight plan via manual as most of my flights are not as they were with my FF-777 because I try to mimic real world scenarios and the FF-777 is primarily utilized for VERY long flights sometimes with 8+ pages of navigation to insert therefore my enjoyment with auto-load from simbrief...before I discovered that little gem it was all manual and that really could get tedious!

It will however offer a choice of plans other simbrief users have used for the route if available. It provides ETOPS planning apart from redispatch. I have started to use it for fuel planning too. It hasn't been wrong with its fuel predictions yet, especially with regard to the effect of strong head or tail winds. The best thing about simbrief is it's free and it will support the Navigraph AIRAC cycle you own.
