Enabled BLOOM for an FPS increase...Worked for me!

Featured Replies

A couple of days ago I read a topic regarding a discovery by someone using DX10 Fixer, that if bloom was set in FSX and adjusted to 60% in DX10 Fixer there was quite an increase in FPS. Trouble is I can't find the topic again. But I just want to say I tried it and it worked for me as well I have a minimum of 5 fps to a max of 15 fps increase. Fantastic. And thanks to whoever it was discovered this.

Reality Is For People Who Can't Handle Simulation!

This sounds simple enough to do. ( I like simple )  Hopefully, your results can be reproduced on other machines. I'm waiting to buy and install the DX10SF after the next update gets into the store....   B)

Worked for me too! I noticed 5-10 frames increase. At another post i wrote that i missed the smoothness of free patches. I think that maybe the secret of this smoothnes hiding in the bloom setting of the Fixer!

DX10 is a new journey and i think that Steve and DX10 fans will discover new tricks and settings that will lead the sim to perfection.

You have to set both reflective and lights to 60%? I'm gonna try

Is this using ENB or Sweet FX? Does it matter?

Woops, just realized you meant this is set within FSX settings, not with these third party tools.

Not in FSX. In DX10 Fixer.

Howdy, is this the way you meant the setup to look like  both in the game menu and Fixer menu?

bk I just tried it like this, and while I was a little skeptical with a trust but verify attitude  ^_^  , it did indeed increase my frame rates. I am using FSDreamteam KDFW and was receiving anywhere from 9 to 12 fps before the bloom settings. I am now receiving in the range . of 15 to 20 fps.

I'm not a fan of bloom but hey, you do what you have to do. I'll run with it on for a while to make sure.

good god this is true I tried this and sitting in my NGX I now have an extra 15 frames, this is going to help immensely wow

Yes ... quite a dramatic increase for me from early 20's to mid 30's up to 50's. Gets a pretty stable 30 when I peg it @ 30.

that's the bomb lets hope it does not get broken in a later release LOL, that's a great win with so many downsides in FSX
