December 6, 200421 yr Hey All, Does anyone know how to adjust the taxi speed of the AI Traffic in fs2004? I have downloaded the speed utility program by John Stottlemire but every time i run it i get a runtime error and John's website is no longer active! I am therefore still on the search and require your helpCheersDaren Tech Spec: Intel I7 6700k @ 4ghz / ASUS Z190Pro / Nvidia GeoForce GTX 1080 4095mb / Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000 / 3 x Samsung SSD 1TB Windows 10 64bit

December 6, 200421 yr Wow, you waited a whole 28 minutes between posts. This is a forum, not a instant chat room.AITaxiSpeed will not work with FS2004. That is an error in the readme. John's website is no longer active because he passed away soon after releasing his program. Pretty sure that nothing will speed up AI taxi speeds, but could be wrong on that.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
December 7, 200421 yr I used the program for FS9 and did not get an error message. I also believe it worked as I set the AI taxi speed to 20 and that is what I get. I don't remember the original speed, possibly it was around 18. I have XP SP1. Maybe you are missing necessary VB runtime files but I'm not sure which ones would be needed. I seem to remember downloading some earlier ones to my version 6 files but I think there was some kind of problem with them. Maybe some did install, and possibly they were ones needed for the program. Sorry I can't help more than this.
December 7, 200421 yr you are incorrect - this will NOT adjust any item within FS9 program(the DLL does not even go to the proper general address areas). It will appear to install if one has FS2k or FS2k2 installed (regardless of partions) because of the registry reads.I will not install if one has FS9, though there is a hack to get it to APPEAR to install in FS9 if one does not have previous versions of msfs already installed. However, again, even if hacked to install - it has been established by very knowing folks within the community to NOT work with FS9.There was a move afoot many months ago to actually modify the download readme file to eliminate the FS9 reference that was placed there by error. I hope this clarifies things :-) CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K

December 7, 200421 yr I think you must be right Mike. I just tried setting the AI speed to 22 in the taxi speed program and the speed has stayed at 20 in FS9. I do have FS2002 and FS2000 installed so that must be why I did not get any error message. I also tried FS2002 after making the change and the AI taxi speed did not seem to be any better but as I only had FS2002 for about one week before moving up to FS9 I have no labels set for AI in FS2002, and haven't even bothered to find out if it is possible to set them. So I might as well remove Taxispeed from my system. What I am confused about now is I am almost sure I remember the out of the box speed for FS9 AI was lower than 20, maybe around 16 or 18, unless I was experiencing slower speeds in certain parts of some airports? To put my mind at rest can anyone tell me what their FS9 maximum AI taxi speed is, as seen on the labels please?
December 8, 200421 yr Thanks for the info. Well, I must have been under an illusion for quite some time and totally fooled by nothing more than my imagination.
December 8, 200421 yr Author Solution to speeding up AI is to install the new EditVoicePak utility and tick the speeded up ATC box. Works for me gets everything moving much more quickly:)Adam
