October 31, 201312 yr Replaced an aging GTX295 with a GTX670 and the improvements have been excellent except for one graphics issue. I installed the GTX670 with a Nvidia driver version 331.58 and also installed and used Nvidia Inspector. I'm using the same FS9.cfg as before which had some modifications. Prior to the upgrade this graphics issue was not present. In the screenshot the problem can be seen above the vertical speed indicator on the panel. The panel colors do not "blend" together and appear "blotchy". The problem can also be seen below the left MFD. In addition the white and red text is hard to read and not clear. Not sure what to start checking first: drivers, Nvidia Inspector settings. FS9.cfg?? Any direction would be helpful. Sheldon "Bill" Williams
October 31, 201312 yr Check your FS9.cfg for duplicate GPU entries, you might have to remove the old one. Also check your display settings and verify you are set at 32bit and not 16bit. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
October 31, 201312 yr My eyes are not the best these days but could the blotchy textures merely represent todays 'fashionable' wear & tear and grimy facade of the panel rather than a driver fault?
October 31, 201312 yr Author Check your FS9.cfg for duplicate GPU entries, you might have to remove the old one. Also check your display settings and verify you are set at 32bit and not 16bit. regards, Joe There was a duplicate entry in the FS9.cfg file and I verified I'm using 32 bit. The issue is still occurring. Thanks for the quick response. Bill My eyes are not the best these days but could the blotchy textures merely represent todays 'fashionable' wear & tear and grimy facade of the panel rather than a driver fault? If I hadn't used the panel right before I upgraded I might have overlooked that panel issue. My eyes are going more and more outta whack too. But it wasn't occurring prior to the upgrade. The wear and tear panel issue isn't that bad but the text issue is slighty annoying. Sheldon "Bill" Williams
November 1, 201312 yr Author Go back to the old drivers and everything will be good as new. Jim thanks for replying, I thought this was the way to go, but after about 4 hours and 20 reboots until I got FS2004 working, I didn't want to try ONE MORE THING!! Was just happy to get it working. A dying CMOS battery created all types of problems that I thought was related to the upgrade. After fixing the battery and one more reboot everything was fixed EXCEPT this one last issue. I just installed the old drivers (314.07) but unfortunately this hasn't corrected the issue. The text is the main issue, it looks muddy and dull not clear and vibrant. Sheldon "Bill" Williams
