November 2, 201312 yr Can anyone advise as to where I might be able to get the original FSX DX10 Water Animation file(s) from?? I have over the years, used REX, FEX etc and installed numerous different texture sets - I have never bothered to back up the original FSX files as I (like many of us) had no idea that anyone would have the ability/skill/perseverance to "fix" DX10 as the Scenery Fixer has done, and that the original may be required again!! I'm just trying to cover all my bases, and have seen that some users have gained performance from reverting back to the original animation. What is/are the file(s) called? Where can i get it from? (i.e can it be extracted from my dusty old FSX disks!!??) If i can get it, what folder does it go into in FSX?? Regards Steve
November 8, 201312 yr I have a full original Install of FSX w/SP2 as a backup for those kind of things. I also interested in restoring to the original water animation. can any one point me/us to what BMP files I need to copy into My FSX from my FSX backup? Joel Strikovsky
November 9, 201312 yr Can anyone advise as to where I might be able to get the original FSX DX10 Water Animation file(s) from?? DX10 Preview was released with Acceleration and, later on, SP2. I would suspect the animation effect is located in the effects folder. Perhaps doing a repair install for Acceleration will fix your problem.
