Windows Update - FS2Crew porked!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've been operating the voice control version on my NGX without any problems for at least a year (Win 7 platform). Yesterday, I allowed windows update to update a whole load of stuff including security and .NET things (I think) It also installed IE10 as I was previously using 8.

The first time I go to fly following this, FS2Crew seems to have forgotten it's settings - i.e. I have the American voice rather than EU. Also, and more importantly, it can't seem to recognise half of what I'm saying to it - particularly numbers. I can't ask for a radio frequency or a heading without it being completely mis-heard as something else!

I have made sure that my mic and sound settings are exactly the same as before, so it probably isn't being caused there. It may be a coincidence, but the Windows update seems to have broken something.

Any ideas?

Thanks and best wishes,

Hi,

Yes, I checked the language settings and they are correct. There only appears to be one default speech profile and I can't ever recal creating another one, so I assume it's the one I've always been using...

Luke,

I have all Windows updates and your update didn't hoop anything probably, unless it somehow hooped your Microphone hardware, which is unlikely but you never know.

Please do this:

1. Re-install FS2Crew.

2. Re-run the Voice Training.

3. Double check the Troubleshooting section in the FS2Crew on-line manual (www.support.fs2crew.com)

I unfortunately had a similar issue using my Logitech G930 Headset. I tried reinstallation as well as the voice training software including reinitializing the software. It ended up being my headset microphone.

Thanks Bryan and all.

I will re-install, go through the training routine again and see if that cures the problem.

Best wishes,

Luke
