November 11, 201312 yr Parker, I have no idea what you are talking about. Please start a new thread describing what you have, have lost, have purchased, and have installed. Then we can figure out what you need to do.
November 12, 201312 yr Should I just buy Deluxe and transfer my Acceleration Data over? If you purchase a new Deluxe version and get it activated, you can then install Acceleration but you will have to reactivate that again. Deluxe must be installed before Acceleration. November 12, 201312 yr I too have had this Reactivation Issue. As I'm currently abroad, I cloned my existent home-based SSD which had the working FSX Acceleration install that worked flawlessly. The minute I installed that cloned SSD with the OS, into another PC abroad, I was asked to activate the OS, which I managed to do seamlessly but FSX when trying to activate online stated that I'd exceeded my activations and would not be able to do it online. If MS have withdrawn support for FSX, will that phone activation method work? Rick Almeida
November 28, 201312 yr Having the same issue here. Uninstalled correctly and used the licence reset download but still cannot activate. Thought maybe install problems with the old discs so bought a new copy but same problem. Have even activated the extended administrator account in win 8.1 for installing but no change. Clicking on activate by telephone just crashes the program. Opening the phoneactivation.xml file gives 2 numbers for the UK but both are automatic systems which ask for the product id number from the activation wizard. Don't have a number because the wizard will not run for telephone activation. Read a post that from Microsoft that said it can be caused by registry filters but it seemed to only apply to XP and the fix-it file said not compatible with my OS! Banging head against wall now!!
November 30, 201312 yr Sorted - so simple!! I've been running it in compatibility mode for XP SP3 as I did in win 7. Changed it to Win 7 mode and it activated.
November 30, 201312 yr Author Ha ha! It's working now. Got the professionals to work on it, they re-installed the Win 7 OS then FSX activated OK. I'm just glad to get my "wings" back.
November 30, 201312 yr I re-installed FSX a couple of days ago with no activation problems. My first attempt to validate FSX on-line returned a server busy message. When I tried later it activated. Acceleration activated on-line at the first attempt. Gerry Howard
February 12, 201412 yr After many failures turning off all options except administrator worked for me in Windows 8.1 (did not try turning off administrator)
