Baron at Night

Featured Replies

Fro some strange reason I have always found landing and take offs at night to be somewhat exciting.  I guess it's the lights or something.  Or maybe it just doesn't take  much to thrill an old guy (wink)

Dan,

I like night flying also.  Many years ago, in a Galaxy far, far away, I was building hours while working at the spacecenter in Florida.  I would work the 12 day shift so I could fly at night or if I pulled the night shift 7 - 7 for a few months, I would find someone to cover for me and sneak out and fly at night.  I would typically fly from TICO to JAX to ORL or TPA to TICO or maybe go the other way and do the TICO FLL MIA TPA ORL TICO.  I always liked to check in at the catering shop in Tampa Intl and pick up a free tray of finger sandwiches (first class stuff). I guess the passengers tended to eat less at night, probably sleeping instead.  I still remember how tasty those fresh little sandwiches tasted while cruising the Florida skies.  If you showed up at the back door, they knew you were a starving pilot in training.

Dan,

Great shot. The Milviz Baron is one of my favorite GAs.

Ray, sounds like I touched a tender spot in your heart.  Thanks for the memories and I'll be at that back door looking for sandwiches soon.

Thanks to Ctiger too

That's about all I have left, a little money and lots of memories of where it went.
