November 24, 201312 yr Just tried adding OSM and photo scenery for my home town. Looks pretty good actually. The shape and position of most buildings are very accurate, although they obviously look a bit generic. Still it's very easy to recognize not just the city but individual neighborhoods and even buildings. -
November 24, 201312 yr Nice pictures. Exactly what is OSM? It's open street maps data. Check it out here: http://www.openstreetmap.org. Basically anyone can define what is on the maps - i.e. buildings, trees, forests, water, etc. So, using this data, you can build sceneries like the pics above that is very accurate and true to what you'd see if you were there in real life(more or less).
