How you install Lennart's textures?

Featured Replies

...I've read the instruction but confused!I'm not too sure what needs to be pasted where and what folders need moving.Regards,Darren Sugden

Hi Darren,The simplest way found so far is to extract all the textures into one temporary folder, backup the original FS9 textures, then overwrite the files in your scenery/world/texture folder with Lennart's new ones.I used this method, which was recommended in another thread on this forum, because the supplied program and instructions are a bit confusing.Hope this gets you sorted :)

Thankyou! :-)Darren

Thank you in advance - Im about to install them!

I just completed the download and installation. The docs are a bit confusing, but Lennart's English is a hell of a lot better than my Swedish, or is it Norwegian...my apologies for the confusion of not knowing which language is which. btw, Lennart has put his picture at the end of the pdf doc. He looks like Santa Claus...so, is it any coincidence his new textures are out for Christmas?...:-)Thanks, Lennart!Sherm

Lennart has graciously uploaded the textures to the AVSIM Library today, and I have just brought them online. Have fun folks!

CDT after installing the textures :(The scenery loads to 56% before a flight and then CDT.I replaced it w/the backup FS9 textures and FS9 working fine now. But I wish the new testures would work! They look cool!!!*********EDIT***********NM, I realised my mistake! The new textures do not replace *ALL* the originals! I had created a new texture folder just for the new ones and of course FS9 threw a fit cuz it was missing some originals. So I just unzipped Lennarts textures straight into the scenryworldtexture and now its working....at least I hope it is!Im gonna take screenshots & then install the originals to compare to make sure!Thank you Lennart!!

By default FS9 is in the C:program filesmicrosoft gamesFS9 folder.Lennerts textures extracts to C:programsmicrosoft gamesFS9, maybe because of a glitch in the languages. If you installed them as he recomends, by copying the default textures to his NorthernEurope folder and the USA folder, then going to the C:programsmicrosoft gamesFS9sceneryworldtexture folder and copy all the textures to his FS9sceneryworldnorthEurope folder, then all should work fine.It did on mine anyway.Joe W.

I get a windows 32 error for the European textures?? USA I don

You can skip a lot of problems by just extracting every texture into the SceneryWorldtexture folder... backup the originals first though. :)

Yeah I did that now it loads fine. Well except my Meridian. I will have to go back to flight1 forum and search for the solution again. Must have memory like a gold fish. It used to work if I loaded a Cessna 182 first in 2D but that don
