Fokker 70/100 v2

Featured Replies

The new Fokker 70/100 v2 is great, but is anyone else having problems with the audible warnings during landing? I'm getting the "don't sink" and the "pull up" warnings, even when I'm on the glideslope. I checked Project Fokker's site, removed the old version 1, including the gauges, and re-installed, but the problem persists. Is there any way to just eliminate the audible warnings all together?Dale

Hello Dale, have a look a the support page from Project Fokker first, that's the easiest way to find a solution for your problem. At the bottom of the first topic you'll find their suggestion to fix the "pull up" and "don't sink" warnings.http://fokker.avsim.net/support.htmIf that doesn't help someoneelse maybe has an solution!Edit: typo!regards,

Thanks for the reply Christan,Well, I tried what Fokker support FAQ said, which is essentially to eliminate the old v1 files. I did that, but am still getting bogus warnings. I made sure I deleted any files of the type PF10070_WCGPWS_xxx.gau. This is frustrating because the Fokker 70/100 is a great plane to fly. If I could just turn off the warnings, all would be well by me - anyone know how to do that?Dale

Try isolating the particular sound files in the sound folder. Try renaming them or delete them. Not sure if this will affect any other processes or not, but it's worth a try.

Yes, v2 is a great simulation indeed. However, much to my reget, we lost the unfolding pax-staircase at the cabindoor and the audible pushback commands of version 1.....Paddy.

Yes its a fun simulation! Many thanks to the Project Fokker team.Since this thread is about sound Id like to ask all of you who fly this plane:Can you make out that the engine noise sound file is looping? Of course all engine sounds in FS9 loop its just that I *notice* it in the Fokker 70/100.I listened to each on of the engine noises in my audio editor (specially the "taywhine" files) but was unable to single out the looping whine I get in flight. Not a problem I hasten to say but if anyones found a way to smooth it over so the break at the end of each loop isnt obvious - that would be awesome!:)

Yes, its a great simulation, especially if you just get in from work and want a quick flight without all the PMDG/CS/Flight 1 startup and FMC stuff. I noticed the looping on the tay whine but, truthfully, I don't really notice it any more and its such a small problem anyway. Last night flew the Fokker from Brussels to LHR using real weather and real stars in the dark - excellent. It was pretty gloopy around LHR and I descended through the overcast and low visibility and got the lights at 4 miles and about 1300 ft on the ILS. Terrific little sim.Kev

<<< It was pretty gloopy around LHR>>>LHR always seems to be in a stew :)

And for anyone who HAS downloaded the new Fokker release -change the aircraft.cfg line - (in all the PF aircraft)from:"elevator_trim_limit=24.324"to read:"elevator_trim_limit=12.5"This eliminates the tail problem. All the best,Dave.'Three greens and soft landings'

Thanks for that pointer Dave. Trim limits now changed. On the F70 I've noticed that the wind strength in the EHSI is double that of the FS2004 value (as found using SHIFT Z or in FSNav). Does anyone else have this or is it just me?boneshttp://fsaviation.nethttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

>Thanks for that pointer Dave. Trim limits now changed.>bones---------------------------------------------------------------------Your welcome Bones. That tip was from the guy that sorted the FDE for them our very own 'Jake' who is the test pilot at www.knightair.com .All the best,Dave.'Three greens and soft landings'

1.No Landing lights visible from the 2D Cockpit view?2. Unable to establish 'ILS' Lock and Capture?3. Rejected take Off switch dosen't correct itself after take-off?4. The .cfg instruction and alteration at the 'Project Fokker' web-site applying to the uncancellable 'GPWS' warnings dosen't work?Apart from that, it's great software and an aircraft that I love flying.Lets hope that 'PF' include these items in their next upgrade. >>2. Unable to establish 'ILS' Lock and Capture?>>>I haven't experienced this problem. I wonder if it is an>operational issue (no offense intended) or configuration>based?>>--qnh>No offense taken. The ILS shows on the eicas display but doesn't 'CAPTURE'. If it did the aircraft would land itself? This test was carried out at 'KSEA' with the 'Nav-1' radio tuned to the 'ILS freq. At a height of 3500ft the 'ILS' (and heading in a direct line to runway 34R), should take over and guide the aircraft to the end of the runway and land it with the pilot taking over to 'flare' just before landing and at decision height? All the best,Dave.'Three greens and soft landings'
