December 28, 201312 yr Hi Everyone I have been simming for many years mainly in Orbx Au land and had a free AI Traffic programme which populated my major and minor airports with pretty realistic AI traffic. Recently I have purchased several payware US and Canadian airports (PANC, CYVR, KLAX KDFW KMIA) which all look fantastic except for the fact they do not have much traffic showing up despite having up to 30% FSX airline AI Traffic dialled in. Even then, the ones showing are terrible fsx default models and liveries not even remotely realistic. I don't really want to spend a huge amount on fancy payware AI programmes but to get something even remotely realistic in this region like my Orbx AU traffic is that my only option? I am also aware that AI will effect frame rates so will need to find a reasonable balance between traffic and load on my system. I look forward to any comments you may be able to pass on. December 28, 201312 yr I think most would agree that the best freeware AI is World of AI, here: http://www.world-of-ai.com They have airlines covering the whole planet and many have been updated recently. The models are pretty good, too.Hope that helps you. Cheers. Jeff "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return." -Leonardo da Vinci (some experts question the attribution, but I'll go with it for now.)
December 28, 201312 yr Author Thanks Jeff I have seen this but thought it was for FS2004. Is it a difficult process to install and do you find it has a large effect on frame rates? December 28, 201312 yr Thanks Jeff I have seen this but thought it was for FS2004. Is it a difficult process to install and do you find it has a large effect on frame rates? Nope, they're available for FSX as well. You'll see download links for both on the packages page. Most of them are downloaded from the AVSIM and Flightsim.com libraries. They're a snap to install as WOAI uses an installer that you download from the WOAI website. There's a link at the top of the page. How it effects your framerates will depend on the number of airlines you install and the percentage traffic you set in FSX. There's no need to crank it up to 100%. I'd start by setting airline traffic to around 50% and see how it goes, then tweak it from there. Obviously, with payware airports that have the realistic gates available, you'll have a lot of traffic; so in places like New York where you have KJFK, KLGA and KEWR in close proximity, you may want to turn it down a bit to get best performance. Cheers. "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return." -Leonardo da Vinci (some experts question the attribution, but I'll go with it for now.)

December 28, 201312 yr Yes WOAI is definately the best freeware imo, as is MAIW for quality air force bases and AI traffic world wide. You might have a little trouble getting the WOAI installer to work at first, but I think everyone does at first. It's just because you are not doing something right, but all the answers can easily be found on this forum.
