December 28, 201312 yr Is it really only a watermark on the splash screen that separates the two? Not much info on the LM site and I'm considering pulling the Trigger since I upgraded to a 2gig vid card recently... Chris Camp

December 29, 201312 yr SimonC, that link leads to a Rorschach test. Folks just can't seem to agree on what it means! - Bill Magann
December 29, 201312 yr Is it really only a watermark on the splash screen that separates the two? No, it's not a watermark on the splash screen (which btw there isn't) but a small watermark in the top right corner in the sim itself. Check out some screenshots and you will see it. It says' Academic License' in small letters. Didn't you see this? In all honesty: that site doesn't answer the question. Question answered. Topic done! ^_^
December 29, 201312 yr My concern is that will the PMDG products be priced accordingly to what licence/purpose you have Cheers Josh Cliff
December 29, 201312 yr My concern is that will the PMDG products be priced accordingly to what licence/purpose you have Here you go, straight from the horses mouth, so to speak. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/426978-pmdgs-p3d-development-status-fact-thread-updated-25nov13/?p=2859138 And specifically to your question: "Pricing for PMDG's new line of P3D products will vary depending upon license type and intended use. Airline customers are encouraged to contact PMDG directly in order that we can effectively recommend a solution to minimize direct and recurring costs." Cheers!! "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return." -Leonardo da Vinci (some experts question the attribution, but I'll go with it for now.)
December 30, 201312 yr Here I'll answer since I have a pro version and an academic version for my daughter who is also a pilot. The only visible difference is on the startup screen it says 'academic' and on the actual gameplay screen in the top right it says 'Academic License' If you're like me and you play in Windowed mode with your menu bar up then on the right of that it says Academic License. So in short if you're playing this at your house and that doesn't bother you then get the Academic Version.
