Thanks friends. I was just looking for a reason to spend money uselessly and you saved me! My head told me there wouldn't be much increase, but you know, we always are lured by the shiny new thing.

Is there any reason in P3D v3.x to upgrade from a 980Ti to the available 1080 cards? Given the cost will there be any noticeable increase in performance? For reference, I would consider a 10% frame rate increase to be clearly noticeable. Sorry if this has been asked already, and thanks for any input you can give! Bill

So true! I just did the client upgrade today and it was mostly painless. I had to find and run the Flight One GTN 750 update program, but everything else has worked fine. Thanks Elaine!

ASN16 will not work with P3D versions below 3.2.3, correct? I have been happy with 3.0 and have never upgraded. I will have to bite that bullet if I want to use ASN16, correct?

I use three monitors in a "bent back" configuration to stimulate and simulate peripheral vision as it is in a real plane. I find it much more immersive than just using one big monitor, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I use monitors with small bezels and i stopped noticing the bezels very quickly.

I am perfectly happy with 3.0. In fact I'm delighted. Is there any compelling reason to update to 3.2? If I do will I have to re-install all the Orbx and Aerosoft sceneries that I have? Educate me!

I got a message from PCAviator that a new version was available for download and the installer was just part of the new version. The TBM is still tough on frame rates in the new version lol.

They just updated the TBM850 with a P3D v3 installer.

It's the Aerosoft Aspen on top of Orbx Global. I have plenty of other examples of that combination that don't eat my planes when they go an inch over the runway line lol. I don't have the Orbx Vector.

When my plane crosses any of the outer marker lines on the runway or taxiway it crashes in this scenery. I'm not talking about going all the way off the runway, just if a tire touches one of the lines. And it's not a small crash either. My A2A planes require extensive service in the hanger after one of these "crashes". I know, the solution is to stay inside the lines. But it is still strange. Anyone else seeing this?

This has been going on for quite some time. I have seen some posts that say maybe May or June, but even that might be optimistic at this point. The explanation has been that Saitek was moving their production facilities to save money. We shall see.

I have about exactly the same setup and it just makes P3D v3 finally live up to its potential. After years of resistance I finally switched over to P3D full time. For whatever reason the 6700k system was just superior to my 4790k system. Go 6700k and you should be very happy.

I absolutely love ORBX products, and have almost every scenery that they make, but I couldn't agree more with this sentiment. Almost every question I have ever seen is met with disdain.

Yes they are both the current versions. I downloaded both of them yesterday. And I knew from experience with the GTN 750 FSX version that Norton 360 would try to quarentine the .dll's so I put the FSX, P3d, Realair and Flight1 directories on the excetions list. I really thought I had everything covered. That is why I am baffled. Thanks, I'll give that all a try this afternoon when I get back to this problem. Family stuff for a few hours now.

I hope I am doing something stupid, but I can't get the "Continue" button to work on the GTN 750 for P3d v3 in P3D v3. I have tried in the RealAir Turbine Duke, the A2A Comanche and the A2A Cherokee (all P3D v3 versions of the aircraft), in both panel installed and externally installed modes. I have redownloaded and reinstalled the Garmin Trainer Lite software and the Flight1 GTN 750 software several times, and let everything install into the default directories. I didn't see any posts on this problem, but if there already are I apologize and would appreciate being directed to the solution. Thanks! Bill Magann

But he isn't getting those issues, apparently, and he is hardly the only person. It is like so many things in this hobby. Some systems run things better than others. I had a terrible time with P3D v2 when others where having no trouble at all. I am having great performance with almost all the Orbx airports in v3 that have v2 installers (except for Squamish which isn't displaying all the trees or buildings, so I don't use that one). Others are no doubt having issues. It comes down to how adventurous you feel like being. Worst case scenario is to just do a clean re-install and start again!

I am still waiting for triple installers for some of my Orbx addons for v2, so anyone who is waiting for all the Orbix stuff to be v3 "compatible" may have a very long wait indeed. I have installed many of the Orbx regions and airports with no problems. There are very easy ways to do it with no registry editing necessary. You can find the details out there if you want to. Once Orbx issues enough v3 installers for me to be happy with the number of them I will do a re-install of v3 and use those installers. Until then, I am enjoying the sceneries instead of waiting.

And it does in fact seem to work fine.

I hope this isn't one of those questions the administrators hate, but did the Comanche install with the default P3d v2 installer?
