For years I have enjoyed the immersive experience of FSX and PMDG's 737 NGX.

Today, I have launched FSX as normal (it opens with a PMDG aircraft loaded) and for the first time ever, I have been asked for a PMDG product activation code.

I dug this out and applied it and in return, got the response in the attached screen grab.

 

FSX will not load after this sequence of events.

 

Can anyone help me with a workaround?

You could try opening FSX with the default flight and the default aircraft and then loading the PMDG aircraft after that loads up.  It's not usually a good idea to start up with a PMDG plane already loaded.  If that doesn't work, you should probably submit a support ticket at the Precision Manuals website, here:

http://support.precisionmanuals.com/Main/Default.aspx
If this is a product activation issue, that's the only place you'll be able to get it taken care of.

Edit: FYI, the PMDG forum requires that everyone sign their name on their posts, so you'll want to do that in the future.

Thankls so much for this prompt reply.

Following your suggestion, I deleted the FSX.cfg file and relaunched FSX with success. A bit of tweaking to do to get it back how it was but at least I can now fly.

Bought PMDG 737NGX and once installed it doesn't ask for an activation code at all. Once loaded up on FSX just blank screens in flight deck and no buttons or moving parts work. Thought it might be the fact that the installation isn't fully activated causing the issue but not sure? Any thoughts?

send a support ticket in (http://support.precisionmanuals.com/Main/Default.aspx)  you will need to create  a new account  since its different to the one your using  now, there they will check you details to confirm your purchase  and  than they will usually send out  the fix with in 24  hours depending if it not  a weekend
