January 13, 201412 yr Hi all I just installed a fresh copy of W7 64 bit onto my new PC. Everything seems fine, but the PC does not recognise the wired connection from by BT Infinity 2 broadband. I therfore have no internet connection. On my previous PC, you could simply plug the ethernet cable into the motherboard and within a few seconds you could connect to the internet. In Hardware Devices, my ethernet adaptor device has a yellow exclaimation next to it. I'm thinking the drivers may not have installed properly during the Windows installation. Can I obtain them from the motherboard software DVD that comes with a new PC? Thanks erich

January 13, 201412 yr It's VERY common for Windows to not have drivers available for your Ethernet, you need to have a driver set ready. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
January 13, 201412 yr Your motherboard CD probably has some kind of auto-installer that will install all needed drivers. If you've already allowed Windows to install everything, I'd find the installation for just the ethernet drivers and install those. I wouldn't install anything else as they might be older than those that Windows installed for you. Of course, the best thing to do after you install the motherboard's CD drivers, would be to visit the website of the motherboard manufacturer and download the latest drivers from them for everything. January 14, 201412 yr Commercial Member If you're seeing the ethernet adapter device, you probably have the drivers installed. What does Windows say the problem is? Is it getting an IP address? Is the router/DNS configured correctly? Cheers! Luke Luke Kolin I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.
