Why is TextureMaxLoad frowned upon now?

Featured Replies

Thanks for your reply, Jim. I tried to increase TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT even up to 200, but I did not notice any improvement, either with ground texture loading time or with smoothness. After setting texturemaxload to 27 I was instead surprised, but, as you say, it might not work the same on every system. Further, I fear that it could give memory problems. Yesterday I only did some tests on one spot (even if quite heavy on sceneries, Warsaw Chopin EPWA X plus Warsaw City by Drzewiecki Design and Rome Fiumicino by Dreamfactory Studio - well known for being a not optimized scenery - plus Rome City X by FSCloud9), tonight I will do a complete flight and see if it's really an improvement or only a placebo.
