Wailer/Siren going off with no apparent reason

Featured Replies

I take off, reach cruising altitude and get a wailer/siren going off.  No caution or warning lite, no EICAS message, nothing to say why it's going off.  Can't reset it either.   I started the flight in a running state, not cold and dark.

Any ideas??

Thanks,

Rob Archer

Could be crew response wailer. but then there has to be an EICAS message.

You could press the recall button and see if something pops up

Hit the recall and it showed nothing.

You're absolutely sure it didn't display PILOT RESPONSE on the EICAS?

Another thought would be a corrupt panel state (you said you started it in a running state - I'm not sure if that was a saved state or not, so I'm just guessing here).

Pilot response is not shown, also, last night on t/o I had to push on the yoke to avoid a stall and it disco the AP which started the wailer.  It would NOT reset even though I have that option set to yes.  Very annoying bug.   AP re engaged fine and no warning or caution lights on, just that blasted wailer going off.

Try hitting the a/p and/or a/t disconnect button twice. Be sure to wait a second between your first and second push.

Hello,

Tried that as I have my yoke button programmed.  I know the min wait is 1.5 secs  I count to 3 then hit assigned button.  Still no Joy.   I just turn the volume down and fly my 90.00 add-on in silence.  lol   not!

Very annoying bug.

It's only a bug if you're not causing it, which hasn't been ruled out.

Based on the takeoff stall issue, it sounds like you have a hardware trim axis.  Do you?

Still haven't confirmed the saved panel state issue, either.

Is the button mapped in fsx to both AP/at connect and disconnect, or do you have separate buttons for connect/disconnect mapped?

Hi, Rob,

Try deleting ANY panel state as the startup state.  This should cause your T7 to start up with engines and systems on.  In my experience that startup state is not buggy.  If your current startup state is derived from the PMDG-supplied Cold & Dark panel state it can still be buggy.    Also, the resettable wailer option must be set separately for each aircraft that you fly.  Finally, are you starting from a previously saved flight or a new one each time?  I had at least one experience where a saved flight had the wailer unstoppable even though that aircraft was set to allow it to be shut off.

Glad everything is working properly.  BUT: don't use the PMDG-provided 777 Cold & Dark State.  That's the buggy one!
