UIAutomationCore dll fix

Featured Replies

I have just purchased  the 777 , going through intro pages it asks me to download th UIAutomationCore .dll file.

The link it gives I cant get through to

A)  Do I need it?

B)  How can I find it

Hope I have explained it clearly, I am new to this forum thing

There are two versions of the UIAutomationCore .dll file.

It fixes FSX crashes after opening things on the FSX menu bar during a flight.

If you dont have crashes after using the menu then you dont need to install this file.

If you do have crashes then try one of the UIAutomationCore .dll files, and if that does not fix it then try the other.

It also fixes some blackscreen and dll errors especially when maximizing minimizing the window and alt tabbing. There are 2 versions of the dll, right click go to properties then one of the tabs shows version number. Last I heard the version with 18 in it was the correct one from an addon customer support poster.

Well, the info I have stresses that it ONLY fixes FSX crashes upon accesing the menu in flight. Nothing else.

It also stresses that there is NO wrong file.

Just that some dont need the file at all (cause they have no problems), some need File A and others need File B (trial and error).

It makes sence to me.

No problems....why mess with it.

CTDs.....try file A

still CTDs.....try file B

But even though my info sais it does not fix blackscreens or .dll errors......it cant hurt to try I guess. You just have to be sure you are seeing improvement if you decide to leave the file installed....and not a pseudo effect.

Hi guys, I have a bad problem with my FSX.  When I'm flying and change the visual more than once (seen from outside, right wing, left, engines, landing gear) the Sim crashes  telling me: That it stopped working after restarting my FSX.

I Have installed tha last versione of UIAutomationCore in this forum, but I have not solved the problem.

So I made the next step to find the problem:

Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Event Viewer, select Custom Views-> Administrative Events.

This is the result (in Italian language)

Nome dell'applicazione che ha generato l'errore: fsx.exe, versione: 10.0.61637.0, timestamp: 0x46fadb14

Please, can you help me?

Thank you

Technical specifications of my pc

Intel core i5 3570 _ 8 gb 3400MHz

GeForce GTX Nvidia 2 GB

Windows Xp 64 bit

I have no idea what that error means.

But there are two things that have proven themselves in preventing crashes.

1) UIAutomation core (there are two good versions, so you you have to experiment with that)

2) install the latest version of FSUIPC4 if you dont have that already.

the version of UIAutomationCore.dll which worked for me is:  6.0.5840.16386

There's an AVSIM CTD Guide here at AVSIM. It's located to the right of all of their forums under Hot Spots. It provides guidance on how to troubleshoot FSX crashes and even offers some possible fixes to certain crashes. AVSIM also has a CTD Forum that provides a lot of solutions to FSX crashes. Just a suggestion.
