Saitek Throttle Config problem - 50% = idle?

Recommended Posts

I recently setup my Saitek Proflight yoke and TQ with a registered copy of FSUIPC.

Everything works properly with the exception of the throttle. I do not get any throttle opening unless the throttle is at 50 or higher on the TQ. In aircraft with thrust reverser's, anything less than 50 on the TQ puts them into Beta. What is really frustrating is the throttle on my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro does not have this problem and in FSUIPC, shows the same values as the Saitek TQ as the throttle is moved from 0 - 100 and back. I have deleted all Saitek assignments in FSX and configured all controls in FSUIPC. I have also used the Saitek software to calibrate the TQ and it shows that 0 on the TQ is 0 in the calibration software.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem recently. At first FSUIPC thought my throttle was at 0 when it was at 50% (like an elevator axis) so when I went down to zero the axis read -650 or whatever the exact value was, then when the throttle was at 100 - full, it would read +650.

It took a bit of mucking around to get it right, you might have better luck just editing the .ini file manually but basically you need to make sure that when the throttle is at zero, the value should read 0, and not go into negatives. also ensure its calibrated within windows control panel correctly first too.

Tough one.  Try checking your slope setting for the throttle in FSUIPC.  Did you establish a slope?  In any case take a look at it and see what you find.

After much pulling of my already thinning hair, I traced the problem down to still having my Logitech 3D joystick still attached. I deleted the throttle mapping in FSX and re-created the profiles in FSUIPC and the problem went away.

Another lesson learned....

That would definitely be your problem. I was caught out on that once before myself.

Incidentally, I'm having exactly the same symptoms as you, but with my propellor no 1 and mixture no 1 axis on my saitek yoke/TQ using a two engined setup. Both go from 0 to full positions with no in-between movement. Highly frustrating. I'm tying to set it up through the FSX control settings with everything else other than TPM movements assigned to FSUIPC. I've also tried it with FSUIPC settings. Same problem
