PMDG 777 Freigther and Linda issue (strange)

Featured Replies

Dear fellow simmers,

Banging my head to the wall with this issue and cannot solve it by myself - might be missing something small, but then again, I quess these forums are meant to find answers if it cannot be found anywhere else.

Im using VR insight MCP Combo with my PMDG 777 and it works like charm - no worries. However, when I change the 777 to 777F, it does not work anymore. I checked the log and it did not seem to show any errors. If I change back to PAX version, it works again. No matter whether I use the PMDG777 or PMDG777LR from the Linda drop down menu - it does not work with the 777F.

Im sure im missing something here, maybe someone could push me to the right direction to find the solution.

Many thanks in advance!

No, there is no extra module.

Is the aircraft search string the same?

Hi Guenter,

Only now had the time do do it and I managed to change the search string as in your screenshot and now I have both versions visible. However, the MCP still wont work with the 777F...

Hi Thomas

A friend of me has the same problem than you.

After a lot of checking i decide to reinstall the last version of Linda and of the different modules on his PC.

And now it works.

I dont find the reason of the problem but it can be a solution.

Hi all,

Just today i managed to re-install Linda, with the latest T7 module. Hpwever, after this, i does not work with the T7 freighter, but neither with the pax version either:)

It does not report any error and the mcp display does sync with the spd, hdg, alt etc, but the mcp will simply not work with it. It works with for example MD-11....

Any suggestion?

Cheers

Hi all,

Is there anyone who would be willing to help me out here? I still cannot get Linda / VRInsight mcp combo to work with T7. Let me describe the issue once more. Previously, I had Linda working OK with the PAX version of the T7, but not with the Freighter. I requested help as seen above and re-installed Linda.

After the re-install, Linda/MCP does not work at all with the T7. It syncs the mcp display with fsx when I load the aircraft, but after that, I cannot get any actions through my mcp panel. Linda Setup says everything is setup OK.

Any ideas where to look?

Thanks

Thomas

Have you actually assigned anything seeing as this is a new install? You either have to rename the file ending with the name .default to .lua as explained in the instructions or in the first forum post pertaining to this profile, or you must make a default setup of you own which means you must go in and assign the various functions to the buttons and dials on the panel.

You will find the instructions in the first post here http://forum.avsim.net/topic/418643-pmdg-777-module-version-05/ i.e. the below.

  • Your current Combo settings wouldn't be overwritten, but you find in Modules/linda-cfg/aircrafts/PMDG 777 files named *.default. name them to *.lua to use them.
  • Take care, that PMDG777.MCRO is also added to your modules folder!

Cheers, Andy.
