Would welcome some advice please. I have a 250GB solid state drive on my PC that's at capacity with FSX and various addons only on it. It has FSX and therefore the FSX addon scenery folder is located there also. Additionally I have a much larger conventional drive that's hardly used at all currently. I want to add more scenery to my collection. If I buy more addon scenery, how can I put this on the larger drive when the FSX addon scenery folder is elsewhere? Is there a way of allowing FSX to look for scenery on both drives please? I don't want to uninstall FSX and re-install on the conventional drive! That would be a nightmare!!!

Advice much appreciated.

You can install addon scenery on any drive you want.  Just tell FSX where it is located in the Scenery Library.

Look into symbolic linking which will let you move stuff you already have on your SSD to another drive.  No reinstalling necessary.  But yeah, you're not limited to your fsx drive for new installations.

With symbolic link when You do an update to ORBX do you have to point it to the different drive ORBX was moved to or just install as normal. Thanks Wayne

Moving Orbx scenery is not recommended; however, someone posted a way to move it to another harddrive.  Orbx scenery should only be controlled by FTX Central when you enable/disable this scenery.  Any other method will result in corruption and crashes.

All scenery (except for Orbx) can be dragged and dropped onto another HDD.  No reinstalling required.  You just need to make sure it is linked properly in the Scenery Library.  If you download SceneryConfigEditor, this utility will tell you if it is linked properly and offer to fix it for you (as well as control your Scenery.cfg).
