  1. Simmarket has it on sale as well. WIth the exchange rate, it costs around US$17. They do sell nyc x airports for around $20 too. http://secure.simmarket.com/drzewiecki-design-new-york-city-x-fsx-p3d.phtml
  2. If the Milviz one didn't exist I would have recommended the CS one as I don't think it's that bad ....but the Milviz one is MUCH better, hands down.
  3. Another thing to have fun with is the historic schedules. Love setting the schedules to 1980!
  4. FTX vector doesn't include landclass which UTX does
  5. Site looks very good. Haven't tried the client yet but I do love the idea. My only concern is having my awful decent rates at touchdown being publicized. I don't want everyone to know! You might want to post this in the regular fsx forum as this section doesn't get as much traffic
  6. It most certainly is. With the preceding line being a bit more famous: "friends, romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;" I beg to differ on the wasteland comment.
  7. I thought it came with a free tool (AFM - Aerodrome Flattening Meshes) which fixes the plateau issues.
  8. Semantics...I consdier flight simulator addons necessities.
  9. Higher prices are fine.....but this is price gouging in my opinion. And if you want the P3D version......you have the privilege of having to buy it again with a completely different bundle forced on you. I'm all for developers getting paid for their work (I am a software developer myself).....but this pricing scheme leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.
  10. Am I the only one who's offended by their pricing scheme? Halifax is like no where near Calgary. Even if it was flytampa quality I wouldn't buy it just based on their pricing scheme. And don't give me the "you need the core libraries" tagline to justify the pricing. I would've happily handed over money for Calgary and Banff (as I've been there) They can of course price it any way they want to....but I will vote with my wallet. Even captain sim with another pricing policy I hate gets my money sometimes. Could you imagine where orbx would be if they forced people to buy Australia to be able to buy PNW?
  11. nice looking livery! Excellent job!!!!
  12. You made an excellent choice. The Legacy does great at low altitude. The turbine duke (which is an awesome plane btw), wants to go high and get there very quickly....Of course you can cruise lower, but that's not what that plane is meant for. The legacy is great for going fast too. And the canopy lends itself better to sightseeing than the dukes with their two engines. But when you're ready to buy your next plane....go for the Duke B60 V2 :-)
  13. Realair Legacy or Aerosoft Katana 4X......go fast or slow
  14. guilty as charged! nice shots
  15. Look into symbolic linking which will let you move stuff you already have on your SSD to another drive. No reinstalling necessary. But yeah, you're not limited to your fsx drive for new installations.
  16. I see you got that covered. I personaly use sysinternal's Process Explorer to track VAS usage. You just have to enable the "Virtual Size" column which Is initially hidden. Good luck with your OOM issues.
  17. I'm on the same boat. I have UTX USA and UTX Europe and mainly only fly there....does Vector add anything for me? How much of an improvement is it in South America?
  18. Aerosoft has a configuration tool which will lower the VAS footprint of the Thessaloniki X. Other users have had success with the tool and I don't remember anyone mentioning much of a visual difference. I too am getting OOM, but mainly at night and using the NGX. What most of my VAS hogs have in common is the use of high resolution textures. I don't think FS2Crew has much of a VAS footprint. I can't say that for certain.....but I can try to measure it if you want. What has helped me tremendously with the OOM issues are the following: disablepreload=1 (my default flight was in a photoscenery area so this actually made a huge difference for me) texture size=2048 (I can barely tell the difference) disable photoreal scenery- disable it for areas you're not flying over on that flight lower autogen = I have mine in the middle
  19. My apologies....I did not realize that. I change my emphatic no to a reserved yes
  20. I vote an emphatic no. You have to assume that eventually, the images will expire or disappear. There can be many reasons......but none of which AVSIM can control. Dropbox account gets closed, an image link expires, Image company disappears (eg Megaupload). It would be sad to go into a somewhat old post and read comments about a picture no one can see anymore. Tom, is the impact of the image resizing on the servers quantifiable?
  21. How about in categories? It's like trying to pick the best vehicle ever when you have cars and buses on the same list. Best Modern Tubeliner PMDG 737NGX & PMDG 777-200LRF (Tie) Best Classic Tubeliner: Coosky DC-9 Best turboprop: Majestic Dash 8-Q400 Best 2 Engine:GA Realair Duke B60 Best Single Engine GA: Realair Legacy Best Military: Milviz Stuka Best Heli: ????
  22. The OP has limited his list to the Flight1 Coolsky DC9 or the Majestic Dash 8. You really can't go wrong with either choice.....but the edge for me goes to the Dash 8....ever so slightly. I would especially recommend this for Australian regional hops (Quantas).
  23. Do a search on fsx and uiautomationcore.dll The first hit on google has the download link for the dll. Just place it in the root folder of fsx and it will fix your problems
  24. Sounds more like a permanent price drop than a sale.....looks like a sale on the DVD's though. JV on the orbx forum never used the word sale....though he didn't explicitly state that it was a permanent reduction.
