January 27, 201412 yr Depends on your flying style. So what is your kind of flying? EDIT: We are pretty close to this one, aren't we? :rolleyes: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/432962-almost-perfect-aircraft-recommendations/ Edited January 27, 201412 yr by olli4740 What happened to AVSIM
January 27, 201412 yr Matter of opinion entirely. Silly question really. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
January 27, 201412 yr If we are talking about systems inmersion, flight dynamics and well modeled there is no doubt: Pmdg 737NGX and 777 Majestic Dash-8 400 A2A accu-sim cessna 172 trainer
January 27, 201412 yr A2A Accu-sim Piper J3 Cub. Systems modeling is top rate. Flight model is excellent. And it's FUN to fly! A better question might be, "If you could have only one FSX aircraft, what would it be and why?" For me, that would be the default Grumman Goose that I have heavily tweaked, if only because I've flown it more than all other aircraft in FSX combined. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

January 29, 201412 yr Tested by real pilots and they all give it "Two thumbs" up for flight fidelity. And don#t forget its systems - that's pretty much as close as it gets :rolleyes: On topic: It's pretty hard to say, it depends entirely on what typr of flying you do, and more importantly what you expect from the addon: Are you A) a GA pilot, who mainly cares for visuals, perhaps even don't care too much about the flight dynamics: RealAir (among the best in terms of FDE and visuals, actually) and Carenado/Alabeo (some FDE are good, some definitely are not) B) a GA pilot with high demands about systems fidelity: Probably MilViz, can't judge them, perhaps also (some) RealAir releases C) an airliner pilot who just wants a pretty plane: CLS 767, to a certain extent Captain Sim D) an airliner pilot with moderate system demands: Airbus X, to a certain extent Captain Sim (but pretty expensive IMO) E) an airliner pilot with high demands about systems: PMDG, LevelD F) a chopper pilot: Nemeth (pretty visuals, but unrealistic flight behavior);AS Huey (probably the most controversial FSX helicopter, but pretty nice IMO); DodoSim, Cera (quite high standards, though the Dodo Jet Ranger is quite dated) G) a military fan: IRIS (some planes are pretty, some aren't, no actual system depth, though); AS F-16 (intermediate, dated); MilViz F-15, T-38; the "benchmark addon" VRS F-18 Florian

I thought the default aircrafts in FSX where the worst of the worst in every category. How are you able to mod the default craft so they are better?
January 29, 201412 yr Don't sell all the default aircraft short. I like the Goose (especially the HD Ozx model) and the Maule a lot. Bernt Stolle and several others make updated airfiles for the defaults that are quite good. a military fan: IRIS (some planes are pretty, some aren't, no actual system depth, though); AS F-16 (intermediate, dated); MilViz F-15, T-38; the "benchmark addon" VRS F-18 Don't forget the Lotus Sim L-39.
January 29, 201412 yr Why doesn't anyone talk about the PMDG 747? I said PMDG in the post above yours, that includes all of their planes, at least that's what I thought -_-. But they are working on a newer, up-to.date version, IIRC, so if you don't have the need for an accurate 747 right now, you might want to wait for that one. Could take them a while till release, though... Florian
January 29, 201412 yr Well, that's easy to answer.Twin Otter ExtendedA2A 172 trainerPMDG 737NGXAnd LOTS of Carenados that are way over the standard aircraft, but just can't make a number 1 place. i9 RTX 4090 64gb ram
