FSX add ons with center mounted flight sticks

Featured Replies

Hey gang, I just got the new center mounted stick attachment for my Volair Sim chassis and I am eager to fly all those planes with real sticks. The P-51 Mustangs, J-3 Cubs and Citabrias immediately come to mind but, there must be many more in our virtual hangars.

How about posting the ones that I am trying to remember? Thanks.

What are those big tundra tired super cubs called? Oh yea, Flight Replicas Super Cub Package. That's one of them.

Let's see, doesn't that Diamond DA-20 has a stick instead of a yoke.

Which hand arrangement are you looking for?  Most fighters, and tandem seat planes have Right Hand on stick, Left hand on throttle.  Most side by side seated sticks are Left Hand stick, Right Hand throttle.

A few exceptions I can think of are the BF-108 and SF-260 (at least when flown from right  seat)

The Classics Hangar BF-108, which is a fantastic vintage German GA plane has center sticks,  The BF-108 is right hand stick, left hand throttle, which is a challenge for the real pilot since gear crank is in the center, the prop crank is on the panel.  It is a lot like the early Spitfire.

Speaking of the 108, I really think it could use a review.  I think it is easily on par with the RV-7, and at the time of release (June 2011)  was certianly on par with the RealAir releases at the time.  It is a quality simulation of something exotic and 'different' than the usual GA plane.

Cheers

I mean which hand to you normally use on the stick? Left or Right?  Right hand, then any of the fighters, tandem trainers, tandem bush planes, biplanes...etc.

Right hand sticks could be any of the A2A fighters and Cub, any of the Classics Hangar FW-190 line, Flight Replicas has the Super Cub and some fighters, RealAir Scout, Spitfire, SF-260. Lotus L-39C, Alabeo Waco, VRS F-18...etc.

Left hand sticks could be the RV-7, Legacy, Airbuses..etc.

Cheers

Ant's Tecnam Eaglet and Sierra, Drifter, and Tiger Moth are center sticks.  All the gliders are center sticks.  Shoot, most of the planes I know of are center stick.  Sibwings Pitts and Bird Dog and even the venerable old Safir.  Helos are center stick, of course.  Milviz F-86, I'm pretty sure.  Aerosoft Wilga (a really neat plane).

Those are some of the good ones from my hangar.  And of the others already mentioned, I second (or third) the BF-108, the RealAir Legacy, the A2A birds and the RV-7.  Very few planes I own and fly regularly are yoke.  Even the plane I fly a lot in real life, the FD CTLS is stick.

Razbam A-7. Milviz T-38. Aircraft Factory F4U and Albatros.

Yep, there are a bunch of models that will benefit from having the center stick. Thanks everyone for adding to the list.

Hard to believe I didn't remember the RV-7 is a stick. Must be the cheerleader pilot and a stick just don't seem to fit just right with me. It is such a good model too.
