Enjoying the cloud shadows and colouration in the XP-10 Demo with some dataref fiddling... nothing special, see it all before type shots, but my first on this platform.

I do like the way you can zoom in and the scenery does not turn to mush... there is much to admire here, just a shame the clouds are rubbish.

beautiful, II may say, even though I am a FSX man, with dx10

Well, I'm a P3Dv2 man, but I am enjoying exploring the XP demo. Its a great sim without doubt and if I were starting from scratch I would have to think hard about which platform to invest in. If time and money were limitless then you could do it all; as it is I barely have time (and only enough money) for one sim.

Clouds look a bit better if you use the "set random and only semi-controlled weather patterns" weather screen, and set "coverage" and "system size" sliders to high (also, "randomization" set to high can yield good results), and then click on "Regenerate weather now!" (it's random for each click). However, to have good results you need to have high cloud density (around 100% in the rendering settings menu) and this is quite heavy on performance.

Also, there are some freeware replacement cloud textures that can improve their appearence somewhat:
