February 9, 201412 yr Hi everyone, Hearing a lot about & seeing some solid reviews of the global scenery upgrade provided by FTX Global over the default FSX scenery I'm tempted to get this addon. But my main hesitation is the effect it'll have on the airport addons currently installed by me in FSX. I have a load of them. It'd help knowing what people have experienced and if it's harmless to install with the aerosoft, fsdt, flight beam, etc., airport add ons already installed into FSX. I'd hate to have to go through another clean install if things get messed up. Thanks in advance everyone. Best wishes, Jay Jay Bhatt
February 9, 201412 yr No effect, keep airport scenery over it in library and you're fine Tomasz Zawadzki
February 9, 201412 yr No interference with airport addons, except that maybe the transition between airport and FTXG is not completely as smooth as with default textures (for which most airports have originally been designed), but you don't really notice that IMO. However, I have read that the FTX Central (which comes with every FTX product, to switch between regions and Global/Default) is incomaptible with Austria Pro HD (and perhaps also with other photorealistic ground textures).(EDIT: Don't pay attention to that, I have not found any evidence over at the ORBX forums!) But if you do not use such products, you will really be pleased with what FTXG does! Florian
February 9, 201412 yr I gather FlyTampa's Grenadines does have an issue (or FTXG does, depending on your POV), not that I've been to see for myself yet. But that might be old news, since fixed. Not noticed anything with PacSim, Flightbeam, FSDT or other FT airports I have. Mike Mike Dryden
February 9, 201412 yr Using FTXG will make available to you the Orbx freeware airport packs. Each pack contains about 5-7 airports. Moat are small, a few are medium sized, but all are well detailed and definite eye candy. Use at your own risk though--Orbx scenery is more than a little addictive. You made no mention of it, but you will need something like FTXVector or Ultimate Terrain X (UTX) for roads, rivers, and coastlines. February 9, 201412 yr Author Awesome! Thanks everyone, I'll look into FTX Vectors too. Just read about it somewhere too. Cheers, Jay Jay Bhatt
