[01JAN16] New Year... New Updates for the 777 product line!
Its awesome what you guys are doing for the Sim Community! I'm so close to finally start moving to P3D V3 after seeing the developments there... and I'd almost bought the T7 at the special price for FSX owners when they came out with the P3D version- only to put it in the hangar till I made the move... Thanks team PMDG! And Happy New Year everyone! -Jay

I'd love to keep my hots for the MD11 @ X-Plane
Yea, y'all have a point. This was a tribute to the Lady. Cheers, Jay

I'd love to keep my hots for the MD11 @ X-Plane
Much as I've enjoyed the MD-11 as a (late) hot favorite among other PMDGs on FSX, I'd love to have them throw some MD-11 beans the way for the crew @ LAMINAR. Much solid (loved) and under appreciated bird. Commerce is all about the customer ya? It was about the demand in the Industrial Age!

FTX Global Prospect Question
Hi everyone, Hearing a lot about & seeing some solid reviews of the global scenery upgrade provided by FTX Global over the default FSX scenery I'm tempted to get this addon. But my main hesitation is the effect it'll have on the airport addons currently installed by me in FSX. I have a load of them. It'd help knowing what people have experienced and if it's harmless to install with the aerosoft, fsdt, flight beam, etc., airport add ons already installed into FSX. I'd hate to have to go through another clean install if things get messed up. Thanks in advance everyone. Best wishes, Jay

Any info of progress regarding SP1?
This issue plagued me earlier on, and after going through the fixes suggested in the cfg file, airport add-on manager, etc., one clean un-install of add-ons + FSX and their subsequent re-install I ended up clean re-install of the entire Windows 8 Pro. Subsequent re-install seemed to solve the problem as there weren't any hang-ups for a while, but then one day - BAM! - it froze the daylights out of me! And I almost gave up on FSX. But I got down to the nitty-gritty & went about updating the drivers for my Video Card - fine, and then sound card - AHA! I haven't had issues since. And I'm looking very closely at the sound card driver as the culprit as my video card is updated very regularly via the NVIDIA GeForce Experience. I have the ASUS Realtek sound card and I updated that driver. I can only make time for this stirring passion on the weekends, and I have to do the flights real time to allow me to cover errands, and I haven't yet had the issue crop up again. I mostly only end up doing one flight, or two if I'm lucky. I sync the T7 UTC clock with system clock and I haven't seen any lags between them every time I come back to it - SO FAR! The freezes would actually pause the sim as it recovered from the sticky situation and resume from just where it left off. The only tweaks I now have in the FSX.cfg are the ones for the HIGHMEM and BUFFERPOOLS. But the SP-1 is eagerly anticipated, because the interesting observation here is that it started happening after the T7 joined the rest of the fleet in FSX. It never happened before on the NGX or the PMDG MD-11. But after the T7 install everything would freeze. I'm sure this problem is more complicated and the team at PMDG is simulating various system set ups, so the fix they come up with is going to be the most reliable solution for everyone. This is such an awesome hobby! -Jay

A new (NGX) version of the wonderful MD-11
Agreed hands down - the PMDG MD-11 is super solid in every sense of the word except for the eye candy in terms of textures. The external textures are completely outdated for today's systems and resolutions. But PMDG know whats the better business opportunity. MS shelved the FS project completely, and I guess its time for the entire community to move beyond now. The FSX infrastructure doesn't have any mileage and support to cope with the tech developments in the community market place. The market has moved way ahead of the platform, but we're still compelled to hold on to it, run tweaks and fixes and endlessly re-install FSX, the config files, all our addons - all the different types of them out there, and even our whole operating systems - for those of us totally into it - just to fix one new born bug thats born in the civilization of the current Aztec of an FSX code, somewhere in any recent addition to our FSX experience. There are systems running up to dual 6GB Video cards, up to 8 cores processors, and 64GB RAM and most resourceful motherboard infrastructures that are leveraged fully by most top line video games and FSX can't make much of it. I have P3D and X-Plane 10 backstage awaiting the next act - be the next to take center stage! But its an awesome simulation of the MD-11, and having recently purchased this one I'm already giving it more miles. I have a feeling it gonna overtake the NGX and the 744/8 in my hangar. Super stuff PMDG. -Jay

777 freezing
I'm having the same issue. Never had it before the T7 install. Went through all the tweaks in all the posts regarding this but no success. Have an open ticket thats.... just open... .... Uninstalled all the add-ons methodically. Uninstalled FSX and made certain no traces left behind in the FSX folder under AppData\Microsoft. That folder removed. Installed FSX, SP-1, SP2, add-ons - only UT, AS2012, aircraft - and it so happens I only have PMDG aircraft addons - so the 747X, 7478i/F, MD-11, 737NGX w service pack, and finally 777. I did not install the airports I have. Just wanted to do a raw test. Loaded latest Nav data, etc. And loaded a T7 flight from KMEM - EDDF. Two hours into flight, no issues, and then BAM! It freezes! And I'm tired now, I spent this last weekend trying all the tweaks late into the nights, and that's it now. I'm going to go through the whole un-install of FSX one time and NOT going to install the T7 till they fix it. I want to remove all traces of T7 from FSX. I'll wait for a service pack update from PMDG. It's a lovely aircraft for sure and I'm getting great frames - 35 to 50 FPS in VC and 85 - 100+ in Spot Views and external. And I'm sure lots of complex programming is involved in producing these results. I'm hoping the support team realizes that this problem is for real - and needs a close look. -Jay

Livery Downloader Issue
Thats progressive news Neil! I'm sure they'll fix this by end of day- and may be I'll make my maiden flight with Fedex from MEM - JFK! Gotta get some work done before then... have supported PMDG pretty confidently last night with the 777 & the 748i/F.... .... Moolah working for me and me working for moolah! Dang! What a vicious cycle! ^_^ -Jay

Livery Downloader Issue
I understand Kyle, and appreciate your looking into this one. But I referred another thread about the livery issue where people - have referred to re-installing the package without any issue(s). And I used the downloaded installer to Remove and then Install the package again. I'm talking about this thread about the "777-222 Liveries" where you've also contributed. I know your stormed with requests - take your time to look into it. I think I'll play around with the House livery meanwhile - but wait - my documentations don't load either! ^_^ -Jay

Livery Downloader Issue
Hey thanks Kyle, have updated this one. But the Ops Ctr is broke. Now the documentations for the 777 also won't open. How do I go about un-installing and re-installing the Ops Center? I went through one re-install of the 777 package, but that un-install didn't un-install the Ops Ctr. Thanks for looking into this one. -Jay

Can't download Liveries!
I'm using Chrome- only my NAV! Ahh! NAV! Could that bugger be a problem?! I'll get back with y'all -Jay Nope! Not the Anti-virus Issue- still won't work. -Jay

Livery Downloader Issue
Yea, Juan's right there George. Its just a flick of a notification and then it's "Poof!" Jay

Livery Downloader Issue
Nope! It's not helping. The Operations Center won't uninstall when I uninstall the 777, and there seems to be no way to un-install it. I'm running it as an admin to no avail. Any guidance here would be huge! Thanks everyone, incl the PMDG team. -Jay

Livery Downloader Issue

Livery Downloader Issue
Hi Everyone, I just installed the 777 package with the Ops Ctr. I started FSX upon install and went through the notifications process to have the 777 installed and initiated, and it all went fine- the aircraft loaded coolly. Then I shut it down, and went to look into the Ops Ctr. Upon initially starting the Ops Ctr I had the issue of not being able to d/l the liveries. A little while later the program updated to the fix for the issue. So now I see the liveries, but when I click on "Download" nothing happens. I get alerted to "1 New Notification" in red that comes up pointing to the Settings tab, and upon getting there there are no notifications. Some guidance here would be huge. Thanks, Jay
