The NEVER option, will ignore any input your REAL throttle sends to you pc, and just let the sim do it's thing.

^^^ This explanation is correct, but earlier, you wrote:

It NEVER overrides the physical hardware throttle's

I'm not sure in what dimension that can be interpreted as "will ignore any input your REAL throttle sends to you pc, and just let the sim do it's thing."  As such, I'm realy not sure how I'm wrong and have it turned around.

If the A/T NEVER overrides the physical hardware throttles (no apostrophe - we're talking plural here, not posession), then the sim really can't do its (again, no apostrophe - we're now talking posession and not "it is" - English is a lovely, backwards language, isn't it?) thing.  It would be paying attention to the physical throttles the whole time because, as you stated, the A/T is NEVER overrides the physical hardware throttles.

So, not sorry to be rude:

Before you get huffy with someone who's trying to help, you could at least go back and look at what you said.  What you meant to say doesn't really matter, because what's written is what's read and that's all I had to work with.

And again you're turning it around.
The never option is not so the A/T never overrides the joystick throttles on the desk, it's so you can never override the A/T when you move the joystick throttles on your desk.

From PMDG.

A/T MANUAL OVERRIDE: This option allows you to decide how you want the autothrottle react to changes in your joystick throttle position. In the airplane, moving the throttles will momentarily change the thrust of the engines, but they will return to the previous position when released, unless the autothrottle is in HOLD mode.

You can realistically simulate this by selecting the <IN HOLD MODE ONLY option.

If you wish to simplify the process a bit while learning to fly the airplane, you can select <NEVER (in which case any movement of your joystick throttle will be ignored by the auto-throttle) or you can select <ALWAYS (in which case the auto-throttle will always allow you to override the desired thrust by simply moving your joystick throttle. We recommend setting this to <IN HOLD MODE ONLY. NOTE: If the autothrottle is in HOLD mode and you move your joystick throttles, the engine will change power.

If you have trouble with this, then simply set this option to NEVER.

Since i have cats, and they sometimes think they can walk on everything, mine is always set to never.

The whole option stuff wasn't my problem to begin with.
The problem was that the engines kept accelerating the plane while it should not have done so.
I don't know what caused it, but i do know, that a re-install has fixed the issue, and the problem is no longer there.
So we can keep debating over who is wrong, or who is right.. Continue to rant about what the other person said, and how you and i interprate it.
Or we could just let it go.
I will do the latter and wish you a very nice day.

Sponge...I am going to back Kyle up here.

You said: "It NEVER overrides the physical hardware throttle's" in post #9

Which is backwards!

What you meant, and should have said is:

"I clicked NEVER" which means the Physical throttle never override the AT"

Exactly the other way around.

But it is no big deal.....just a little confusement.

What is a bigger problem, is your stubbern and arrogant tone toward those who are trying to help you.

I think this might be a serious violation of the sterile cockpit rules, when they demand to be patted on short final. My own cat has been the cause of many "Clear Air Turbulence" (see what I did there) events to my poor passengers.

PS well done for admitting your mistake. Lets all go fly now!

I am not a childish person. I'm 33 and know when to admit i was stupid.

And yes, cats can cause numorous issues :P

Still wouldn't want to miss them..

To the sky and beyond..!!
