February 9, 201412 yr Hello. I recently made the switch to ASN and am now trying to figure out how I can use the Live weather mode with my system clock/FSX time that isn't necessarily at the current real time? (I have FSX set to use system time for its time). What I prefer to do is have the select flight/startup screen in FSX off so it just takes me straight into the sim where I last left it in that last state. Also, I usually fly against real world airline schedules but not at the actual real or current times. So, for example, let's say my next scheduled leg departs KSFO at 0900a local time. Let's also say that it is actually 6p local time in KSFO. What I want to do is set my computer's system clock to 0840a Pacific time but have ASN load and use whatever current weather is happening for KSFO at the real 6p local time. Can this be done without getting the "problem with data" error message from ASN and having it revert to manual mode? Basically I want ASN to just always use whatever the current weather is regardless of what my FS and/or system time is set to. February 10, 201412 yr In live mode it will always use the current wx no matter what the system time or fsx time is currently. I've never adjusted my system time so I can't be sure of.that would have any effect on the download from activesky servers. Sean Green

I've never adjusted my system time so I can't be sure of.that would have any effect on the download from activesky servers. It must take into account your system time somehow. No matter what I did with my system clock, I couldn't get ASN to run in live weather mode. It would always revert to manual mode and quit. My specific instance that I'm referring to was me setting my system clock to 8pm local time in Dubai. The actual real current time for me was 9am Central Time in the U.S the next day. So, essentially I was trying to fly "historically" but with current live weather. I didn't want to use historic mode because you lose the sigmets and it's harder to get maps of historical weather than it is current weather. February 10, 201412 yr Moderator You must have something else going on. Live mode does not care what system time is set to. If ASN is switching to manual mode something is wrong. February 10, 201412 yr Why don't you just...not have FSX time always match system time? In FSX you can change the date/time in a matter of seconds. Or perhaps I'm just not understanding your problem exactly.
February 10, 201412 yr Author Why don't you just...not have FSX time always match system time? In FSX you can change the date/time in a matter of seconds. Or perhaps I'm just not understanding your problem exactly. Because I'd rather not go into the FSX menu system at all when I start a flight. I don't use the "Fly Now" screen where you can select your A/C, time, origin, etc. I disable that startup screen and just go into the sim where I last left it - in the state I last left it. You must have something else going on. Live mode does not care what system time is set to. If ASN is switching to manual mode something is wrong. Yeah, if it doesn't pay attention to either system time/system time zone/FSX time, then I don't get why I saw that error either. For now, I am just keeping my system clock to the current real time for my location and then modifying the sim time via the previous flight file that is my "default flight" along with having FSX not use system time any more then. This seems to work fine too and ASN is happy. Doesn't make sense though if ASN shouldn't care but, oh well. Regards, Kevin LaMal "Facts Don't Care About Your Feelings" - Shapiro2024
