February 15, 201412 yr Downloaded the JS4100 the other night and began my tedious ways through the tutorial, manuals and so-forth. After blowing a couple engines on Martha's Vineyard, I finally lifted off and headed for JFK... Now that I understand how to use correctly go through the starup up procedures, use the autopilot, and control the A/C, its a blast to fly! Made a complete ILS 31R appraoch and landed like a dream... super product... Now if I could just figure out the FMC and control that.... February 16, 201412 yr Yup, it's a great aircraft isn't it? I love the VC and the sounds, really immersive. The FMC takes a little practice to get familiar with but when you do, it's like riding a bike
February 17, 201412 yr Author One question for you . When I load a flight plan in , I end up having to use the GPS to follow the route. I assumed it would/should show up on one fo the scopes in the A/C.... Jim You need to select the FMC as the nav source on the EFIS control panel for the route to show up on the map. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
February 17, 201412 yr QualityWings offer tutorials for download for their Avroliners. Different plane, but the same FMC ... (hint!) EDIT: And this: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/434056-js41-and-lnav/?p=2920342 Edited February 17, 201412 yr by olli4740 What happened to AVSIM

Jim The tutorial runs through it pretty easily and also shows you how to zoom in and out, From memory you need to click the Lnav and full map buttons to get it in map mode AFTER you program the FMC ZORAN

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Well, i can't find on the panel where/how to do that. Issue seems to be I am expecting the FP that Proc ATc X createds for me is showing up in the GPS window. However, when I go to the FMC, i see nothing.... Hitting all these freakin buttons just to load this crap up is impossible.... so much for automation.... i5 8600K @ 4.5GHZ || 16GB RAM || GTX1070 8GB || 500GB SSD || Win 10 Prepar3d V4.5 || FTX/ORBX Base, Vector, openLC || Rex 4 Direct Textures & SkyForce 3D || AS For Prepar3d || Pro ATC-X || UTL2 Beta 2.10 PDMG 737-800,777, Aerosoft A319/A320/A321/A330, QW 787

The J41 doesn't automatically load the FSX flight plan. I agree it would be nice if it did. If you can save the ProcATC X flight plan in PMDG format you can load it as a saved route in the FMC. If not you will have to build it in the FMC manually. Alternatively you could copy the pplan in text form into a website like simroute and download it in PMDG format from there. It is worth knowing how to enter and modify the data by hand though. The FSX kneeboard has a listing of the flight plan which you can copy from. The flight plan entry process is described very well in the tutorial. Having entered it manually, make sure you save the route as the FMC has been known to lose the data if power is lost. Once you have the flight plan loaded you need to select one of the EFIS control panel display pointers on your side to LNAV and select MAP mode to show the magenta line on the EHSI. Those control panels are on the glareshield. The J41 has little automation and is nothing like a Boeing. Once you get used to it it's very rewarding to fly. It's worth sticking with.
February 18, 201412 yr Utube is your friend , welcome to the js41 club. Quick tip, you have to fly this plane. It takes, time, skill and patience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
