February 17, 201412 yr Rather confused on this one.. seen various answers to this or people running other combinations.. If you already have FS Global 2010, do you need to buy the (new) FS Global FTX Compatible version and start with that one.. if running FTX Global and FTX Vector.. or does this matter? Has anyone tried it both ways.. any difference.. ? February 18, 201412 yr FS Global FTX is a downloadable version of FS Global 2010. I don't think there are any other differences.
February 18, 201412 yr The only differences are: - the FTX version is downloadable - the FTX version contains mesh for Canada

February 23, 201412 yr The only differences are: - the FTX version is downloadable - the FTX version contains mesh for Canada I've seen FS Global 2010 available for download as well? Does the FTX Global have Canada Mesh and the regular DL FS Global 2010 not contain Canada Mesh? Confused? If I don't have Vector now but plan on getting it eventually and want to get the FS Global mesh which one do you all recommend? Thanks! Chris Camp

They have two versions of FS Global 2010 - a boxed copy (that doesn't include Canada), and a downloadable copy called FS Global 2010 for FTX that does include Canada. FTX Global is by ORBX and replaces the default FSX ground textures. Think of it as 3 separate products: FS Global 2010 (elevation mesh, whole world EXCLUDING Canada, boxed only) FS Global 2010 for FTX (elevation mesh, whole world INCLUDING Canada, downloadable only) FTX Global (texture replacement, whole world, downloadable only) For Vector, you're fine with FS Global 2010 for FTX. FTX Global is only recommended if you want to replace your textures as well. Otherwise, FS Global + Vector will upgrade your elevation mesh and vector data (roads, rail, shorelines). Hope this helps! FS Global FTX is a downloadable version of FS Global 2010. I don't think there are any other differences. FS Global 2010 for FTX includes Canada mesh where the boxed version (FS Global 2010) does not.

From what I read after re-investigating this, was that the original box set did include some parts of Canada, but not all of Canada (FS Global 2010).. this is what i have.. What i ended up doing for p3d, was installing FS Global 2010.. but then I installed FS Global Ultimate Americas.. the Ultimate series appears to have a higher resolution mesh.. After that the ftx vector would follow, etc.. I have no issues at this point that I can see.
