March 19, 201412 yr After installing V 2.0 I recognized that the "DX10 AA Setting" do not work properly anymore e.g. after setting the value to 4x and then exiting the controller and opening it again the value is changed e.g. displaying instead of 4x = 8x. Because I thought that I made an installation mistake I deinstalled the version (after uninstalling the libraries first and then using MS Windows program functionality). Also I deleted the two lines "MultiSamplesPerPixel" and "MultiSampleQuality" in the fsx.cfg. The I reinstalled V 2.0 again. Setting again the AA value to 4x and then looking into the fsx.cfg I recognized that there was only one line added e.g. "MultiSamplesPerPixel" = 8. But the other value "MultiSampleQuality" was missing even that Paul wrote in his "DX10 Notes" that both values automatically would be added using the program. And the behaviour of the controller was the same as mentioned before. How I can set the value to 4x and to be sure that this value is used? Regards, Hanse
March 19, 201412 yr Commercial Member You are correct, I spotted a bug that for amd it wasn't displaying the EQ options which are the values for amd that use MultiSampleQuality. Therefore in previous versions you could only select 2x 4x 8x I fixed the bug but I didn't realise the bug was repeated when you selected an option So if you select Display 2x It sets 2x Display 2xEQ. It actually sets 4x Display 4x it actually sets 8x If you select any other options it ignores it. I will fix it properly in 2.1 which will be early next week. My FSX Analysis Blog
March 19, 201412 yr But the other value "MultiSampleQuality" was missing even that Paul wrote in his "DX10 Notes" that both values automatically would be added using the program. But - like most - I'm using Nvidia... and no-one else has mentioned a problem here - so good catch, Hanse! March 23, 201412 yr So if I understand correctly, this AA problem just involves AMD display boards? Thx, Al
March 23, 201412 yr Commercial Member Yes, it's only amd that's affected. For amd whenever you enter the screen it shows you the correct aa set in fsx.cfg. However if you make a change the values are misinterpreted. So confusingly if it's set to 2x you see 2x but if you change it to 4x it will set it to 8x..... If you leave the screen and go back in it will then show it as 8x. My FSX Analysis Blog
