March 22, 201412 yr Is the ISA Dev setting available in in the weather brief section of PFPX? I heard somebody say it was but I can't see where is is? Also I have heard that ISA DEV this isn't simulated at the moment? IE it won't effect the shallowness of decent, like the winds aloft would in that section? Jools J u l ia n D i a m a n d i s
March 22, 201412 yr Just put it the cruise oat average. The FMS will calculate the dev. Justin whetstone

I don't know if it is available in PFPX but if you know the temperature and altitude at you landing airport you can figure it out yourself. It is based upon difference between the actual temperature at your landing airport and the temperature at sea level on a standard day which 15C at sea level adjusted 1C for each 500 feet above sea level. Or you could calculate the deviation at 18000 ft as explained in Tutorial 2 on pages 141 and 142. Michael Cubine Michael Cubine
March 23, 201412 yr You can add on the template. the code, so it will show up on the briefing. I don't remember if the EDS template come with PFPX installation I took it as an example, paste <&ISADev> after <&OAT>. You can have also have for every Fix and altitude and add on every template. Here the position AWY WAYPOINT MT ALT WND/VEL TAS DIST FUEL REM / USED LEG ACC NAME TMP/ISA FREQ GS REM POSITION ETO / ATO--------------------------------------------------------------------------------<&RedispatchNavLog_Begin><&Awy:8> <&FixIdent:9> <&MT><&Altitude:7> <&Wind> <&TAS> <&LegDist:5> <&FuelRemaining[4]:6> /<&FuelUsed[4]:6> <&LegTime:3> <&TimeEllapsed><&FIRChange[1]:7> <&FixName:16><&OAT>/<&ISADev> <&FixFreq:6> <&GS> <&DistRem:5> <&Latitude[2]:7> <&Longitude[2]:8> ...../.....

March 24, 201412 yr Just put it the cruise oat average. The FMS will calculate the dev. Justin whetstone I don't think that would do much. You need a TOC temp for the TOC calcs. Not terribly important unless you're restricted to a certain level during cruise (like busy airspace in Asia, or ETOPS) and need an estimate of you MAX CRZ. The ISA DEV for the descent doesn't help to know the cruise average. You really need the descent average. Or just put in the ISA DEV at FL180 from -21C. Matt Cee
