March 24, 201412 yr Hey guys, this is me comparing FS-X and X-Plane on the same machine. 1) X-Plane 10 with FlightFactor's 757 2) FS-X with PMDG's 777 So, which one you choose? To me the answer is clear: BOTH. Why choose when we can have both? March 24, 201412 yr Of course! I only use FSX for PMDG, with scenery setting turned down because frankly why would you want to, if you go up high pretty fast, and the advantage with that is the frame will be smooth?, and I use XPX for GA, smooth, stutters free for visual flying. March 24, 201412 yr Author I have to say the lighting effects are truly amazing on X-Plane! Have you seen those taxiway borderline lights? those roads and cars? Just compare how the runway looks from the ground on X-Plane vs. FSX, much better on X-Plane. I was running both platforms at settings that would grant me 25-30 FPS. X-Plane was more stable on 30 though, FSX struggled on some points to keep it over 20. Overall X-Plane felt way more smooth. March 24, 201412 yr This X-Plane 10, it's excellent! It is very realistic unlike FSX. Especially for floor decoration... .
March 25, 201412 yr Author I can't repeat myself enough, night illumination is AWESOME on X-Plane. You see every major highway, every town, everything is there. I just flew KIAD-KSFO, after departing from runway 30 at KIAD I maintained 3000 feet for a while (no traffic, just for the sake of it) and kept looking down trying to track what I later found out to be the interstate 56, beautifully lit on a twilight. On approach to KSFO I was given a visual into runway 28R, amazing how the town lit up once I descended through the layer of clouds and how I could identify every bridge and highway. March 26, 201412 yr Author This is what I was talking about, had to repeat the flight and record it: Watch full screen and at max resolution Jaime Beneyto My real life aviation and flight simulation videos [English and Spanish] System: i9 9900k OC 5.0 GHz | RTX 2080 Super | 32GB DDR4 3200MHz | Asus Z390-F
