Reverse Thrust Deployment

There is now an option to override the Autothrottle with your physical throttle on the flare. So if you want to just cut to idle power at 20 feet rather than wait for the AT to get back (which, if you look, is done on a day-to-day basis in 777 operations), you can. Once the main gear touch the ground, I can now activate reverse thrust asap.

I have switched on the new A/T Flare Idle Override option in SP1, and press F1 to go idle at 50 feet.  However, when the main wheels touch the ground and I press F2 a few times, the reverse thrusters still do not deploy until the nose wheel touches the ground.

What am I not doing right?

Cheers, Harry

Is there a way to use idle reverse in FSX?

Thanks!

Christian Engelbrecht

Yes, depending on how you've set up your control column. Assuming you have a button on it for reverse thrust then in your settings assignments menu in the sim you should have "Throttle Decrease Quickly". Asign a button to that and set the repeat slider to maximum.  If you want idle reverse then all you have to do is one short press release of the button. Otherwise press and hold it for arounf 4-5 seconds to allow the engines to spool up for maximum reverse thrust.
