February 5, 200521 yr Hello,Was wondering if anyone who owns the BAE 146 could comment on it. It looks pretty professional, and I noticed it comes with an FMC, was wondering also if that is fully functional. February 5, 200521 yr Hi Jeff,I own it, and like it very much, but be warned, it is not really for the "eye candy" guys out there simply because its a fairly old model updated for 2004 and as such misses out on a VC etc. That said, I think the 2D panel is fantastic, and also like the FDE very much, the FMC is infact the exact same FMC that was in Dreamfleets 737-400.Bottomline for me is, its the best BAE146 you can get, and its a plane I like very much, if you are not that enthusiastic about it, you can get a great freeware BAE146 from Jon Murchison in the library, and also Mathuis Leibrecht (SP?_ excellent BAE panel is also in the library and is very good too.Dan.

February 5, 200521 yr I just completed a flight in it as well and I'd give it the thumbs up. Nice and fun, but the switches still all work and it does act like a BAe146/Avroliner.Like was said its missing out on some things visually like dynamic shine, but it does have very slight wingflex which is a plus. The only one real hiccup I would point out is that the liftdumpers on the wings are tied to the airbrakes in the tail. This means the liftdumpers will activate in the air which is wrong for the 146. For the steep decents like London City, its usually a steep approach angle with the speed brake opened and then the lift dumpers when contact with the ground is made. Just like the Project Fokker F-70 and F-100 where the lift dumpers are linked to the wing fold instead. That would be the perfect config but oh well, you can't have everything ;)You've got the full 2D panel with views, including VFR approach view and passenger view. 2 Panel versions, traditional analogue cockpit and EFIS cockpit. The British style autopilot is also well simulated. You cannot have altitute hold and speed hold engaged at the same time. So you'll either have to hand fly your climbs or constantly adjust the throttle. VS is also done by holding rather than input. If you want a 2000ft per minute climb, you have to manually do so and then 'capture' it in the VS hold where the AP will keep it there. Ofcourse, if you use VS hold, like Altitude hold, you'll have to keep an eye on your airspeed and throttles yourself. Its a good change and fun experience imo :) It comes with a load editor and FMC.
February 6, 200521 yr Thanks, but how do you get rid of those annoying orange cones and ground vehicle on the side of the aircraft. I am currently on my takeoff roll and they are still there so I had to stop and come to the forum to find out, since it's not in the manual. Also, the FMC won't calculate my V-speeds, and I don't know how to set Vertical Speed, Aerosoft's forum doesn't seem to exist, or I'd ask over there. Thanks again,Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD

February 6, 200521 yr I have used the aerosoft one before, but enjoyed the one from baepanelproject tied in with a jon murchison model a little better. The baepanelproject one though does not have the fmc - but overall - it's a good panel
February 6, 200521 yr The orange cones should go when you close the doors, and the tug only appears when you use the pushback.I seem to remember that you need the latest FSUIPC for them to work correctly. The rest is in the manual, the FMC wont calc V-speeds as its for lateral nav only, the vertical speed isnt set in the normal way, the AP is a little different than normal, you need to set it a bit like a CWS system where by you set the vs by yoke inputs then hit the vs button and it will hold that vs.Dan.
February 6, 200521 yr Is there a way to buy it by itself? I only see it at the Eurowings site as part of a package including the ATR and Airbus. I have the Flight One ATR and PSS Airbus, so don't want to pay a package price for aircraft I don't need. Also, the screenshots show Nice airport, so I assume that's included too. I already have it installed and don't want an automatic installer installing it again. Hmmm, why is life so complicated? :-)billg
February 6, 200521 yr Thx Dan! Odd that aerosoft.com is different than aerosoft-shop.com. I'll give it a go!billg
February 6, 200521 yr So I just bought it and downloaded it. Pretty painless process to get up and flying. Did a short flight--hand flew from KSEA to CYVR and, while it's not a PMDG 737 or an RFP 747 in terms of systems and realism, it's not priced that way either. I think it's a fun aircraft, enough realism to be immersive, lots of liveries, and I'm just plain happy I bought it. I'll have fun with this one! Great post. :-)billg
February 7, 200521 yr Yeah...it is the best BAE 146 you can get, but I'd like to stress the importance of the missing Dynamic Shine, wich soooo much adds to the "real look" of an FS aircraft.Even the smallest freeware aircraft for FS 2004 has it, and of course ALL the payware ones, and this ONE AND ONLY BAE 146 does not have it! And if you start a post in the Aerosoft forum about this issue they censure you, or they give you a lot of excuses... Otherwise, it is a great FS plane...AC5 Alfredo Croci Pulverstrasse 8 P.O.Box 71 3048 Worblaufen Switzerland Tel. +4131 9219231 [email protected]
