LD767 Stutters/Memory Leak !!!!

Featured Replies

I have DF727,ERJ-PIC,PMDG all models,FTCRJ, and even Lago's MADDOG with Jet City Liveries and I get smooth performance in default and addon airports.I am also using AS4.5 and after several flts from KLAX Simflyers to FT KSFO I am getting very bad stutters towards the end of my flight. From taxi and t/o at KLAX the LD767 runs smooth even at crz very smooth with weather.Stutters start as I get approach runway info and start my descent and progarm the FMC for ARR runway.I have no issues with any other addon as far as stutters even Lago's MD is better LOL.There is in my opinion a memory leak with the FMC as a function of time in flight.I took off last night form KSFO in overcast never porgrammed the FMC and the plane flew smooth for 45 minutes as I did Touch and Gos so something is up here.My FPS is set at 20 since you will ask that and I am using a P4 3.0 1GIG PC3200 XMS SATA RAID 0 and an ATI 9800 pro 256 under XP SP1, and FS9 SP1. I really love this plane but I considering asking for a refund if this stutterring issue is not addressed. The plane is virtually useless in a slide show. This was posted in the LD-767 Product Support Forum which I know some of you cannot access.ThanksAndy

This problem has been addressed in the LDS forum.

Yup, sure has. Do a search Andy and you'll find your answer.

Thanks for bringing this to peoples attention Andy.Sounds pretty serious to me. A Memory leak is a serious charge, as you would think all the beta testers would have discovered this.Perhaps you can share the solution from the stealth forum for the rest of the members here. Or maybe the staff from LD can, so the other members here can be aware of it as well, without having to register for yet another forum. ;-)I mean, if we can put up with all the gloating threads here, surely we can stand a few support issues as well, instead of the standard response "go to the stealth forums". ;-)I always find it interesting that all the "Wow what a great plane this is, go buy it" Threads thrive on ad nauseum, then when a concern comes up, it's alway's go to the xyz forums. Funny irony, IMHO.Just an interesting observation. Thanks for posting your concerns. :-)Regards,Joe****************Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Joe-With all due respect, (I will compare this situation to buying a new car) if I buy a new car and have problems with it a few days later, I would bring it to the dealer I bought it from so they could fix it.I don't think I would bring it to the car show and ask people there what was wrong with it or ask to fix it. If I stole the car though, I might do that?! I am begginging to understand WHY their support forums are closed to customers only. The light is shining now (it took a while :)

Hi Tom,Also with all due respect, I feel if there are problems with new releases, and people who bought the aircraft want to disclose those so that people considering buying that aircraft are fully informed, they have a chance to do that. I don't think they should be counseled to go somewhere else to ask if they feel like asking here, or any other multi site.To me, there is no difference with all these buy this aircraft post, and then when someone has a problem, all the minion supporters, beta testers, and even staff of the developer come in and start egging that person to ask their question somewhere else, as if there is only one outlet. I disagree with that. And your car analogy doesn't hold up, IMHO. The Dealer is the last person I call for work on my BMW, as there are many other sources out there for me besides a dealer. Thanks for responding though.I'm beginning to think that only positive posts are being allowed to be vented by some developers, their supporters, their beta testers, and their minions and anything negative in the least gets attempted to be squashed within minutes after they appear in these forums.I just disagree with that, and I am posting my disagreement with that, as I feel that doesn't define a community, it just segments it for the opportunity to stop discourse on a product when it is a negative.Any developer should be able to stand any criticism, good or bad based upon their workmanship. Period. And a memory leak sounds like a serious enough concern.Regards,Joe ****************Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Da*n Joe, give it a break. The reason the folks are directed to the forum is because that's where all the info for customers is located. The FPS problem is present when a route disco is in the FMC. Clearing the disco clears the FPS problem. It IS a bug and the LDS team is working to correct it. I personally like the limited forum access because most of the posts in the support forums are legitimate questions and it's easier to find the answers if you don't have to wade through a pile of "is it food" posts. But, I confess, you are correct. The LDS 767 is a bug infested package that will not get off the ground. It has default Cessna gauges and the sounds are from the default Wright Flyer. Nothing works and it will invade your computer and install 1100 different trojans when you install it. It also will corrupt your Windows XP installation and revert it back to Window 95. Now have fun with your conspiracy theories, I'm going to fly the LDS.

Andy has a problem that has been posted over on the LDS forums, a problem he was told that is being worked on and addressed. In the mean time there have been some workarounds posted about his problem, clearing Route Disconnects, Not leaving the FMC on the DEP/ARR page checking FPS settings etc. All of this could have been posted in the original posting.

Good One: :-lol :-lol :-lolThat is almost as repetitive as all the "xyz Aircraft is the best thing since sliced bread posts I see." Almost, but I think the others are leading. Thanks for the chuckle though. I appreciate it. :-)BTW - I had a good time reading these two pages:1) I especially like the cockpit shots in 2Dhttp://www.avsim.com/pages/0301/767pic/pic.htmlAnd this one:2) I especially like the cockpit shots in 2Dhttp://www.leveldsim.com/sevensix_ss_panel.aspInteresting similarities for a FS2000 Aircraft review over 4 years old, IMHO. Just another observation.Did they use the same Panel, for the most part? Just wondering.I mean, a potential customer would do well to be able to figure out what they are getting before their purchase, and this is what my research into a purchase has found thus far.Sonar5***************Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

As I siad b4 I did post this on their "stealth" forum and their are other users with similar issues, but to be fair their are other users who are not seeing this at all. They LD think that the issue is on the FMC Legs page for any ROUTE DISCONTINUITY that it is causing a sudden drop in FPS for what ever reason ...They claim they are looking into it and will be addressing it.The plane is a good addon but it is not in the same league IMHO with PMDG and DF.I am a bit upset that I did not have the opportunity to puruse their forums without making the $40 purchase upfront.Andy

You Said:"I personally like the limited forum access because most of the posts in the support forums are legitimate questions and it's easier to find the answers if you don't have to wade through a pile of "is it food" posts."Actually, it would be very easy to create a member group that could post, and everyone else can just view.Their forum software they use allows UNLIMITED member groups with the ability to give seperate permissions for different groups. So your analogy about sifting through food posts is valid, but can be EASILY rectified, IMHO, by setting up proper permissions so others can read, and only owners can post.I wrote about that in another thread I didn't start though, based upon a question a member named Diane had asked. :-)Sonar5****************Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Mark the reason I posted over here is that I made a post before this one earlier today on the LD forum and for whatever reason it was deleted a few hours later, which ###### me off !!!I also have the rigt to post whatever I want within this forum and anyother forum within the guidelines of the adminstrator.Andy

Grow up Anthony. If you don't want to help someone with a legitimate question, go bother people somewhere else. You apparently are one of the 'groupie' types that attaches their indentities to a particular product and interprets the SLIGHTEST amount of constructive criticism of the aforementioned products as a personal insult. In your collective minds, this requires a full retaliatory attack and flame of the original author of a particular thread. Posting the repeating paragraph above in order to attempt dilute the validity of a message thread like this is absolutely juvenile. Frankly, I don't feel that I am the only individual here that is completely fed up with your continual antics. I've watched you do this to several forum posters over a period of time, not just with the Level-D related subject matter. My feeling is that if Level-D doesn't want to publicly address known problems with their 767 release, it's certainly their business. I personally will not purchase a product in regard to which I have to continually try to garner information third hand about a potential issue like the memory leak that is the subject of this thread. You are free to disagree as is everyone else. But I have had it up to HERE with the personal attacks individuals like you are compelled to make over and over.

Andy, your post is still in the LDS forum - I replied to you to say that the issue was being looked into. I was actually replying to Joe.
